Bucking Beads
Brownlow Medallist
Clark continues to be linked to Freo and a move west, not really sure what he will be worth or what Freo will want to pay but I can see him playing in Purple next season.

Seriously?
200cm 24yr old very talented high draft pick Western Australian wants to come home and you dont need him? Kicked 27 goals 13 this year in a bottom 3 team
Sure he is a better ruckman then he is a key forward but he is ready made and a pretty bloody good forward anyway. Would kick 40+ as the main target in your team easily.
Just having a bloke over 190cms in your forward line would be fantastic for Fremantle. Youd be crazy not to take him.

Keplar - 199cm
Johnson - 194cm
Pav - 192cm
McPhee - 190cm
Resting forward
Sandi - 211cm
Clarke - 203cm
Up and comer
Houghton - 194cm
Plenty of players over 190cm and Mayne is 188cm
Good luck to him. He is the perfect type of player for the fwd/2nd ruck with the sub rule. Only knock on him is he plays his best football roaming from the goals not close to them. Would of thought his best fit would of been Brisbane with Leuenberger and Brown.
If he goes to Freo, where does that leave Z Clarke & Griffin? Think these guys are too good to just be depth in case of injuries.
he has already declared he wants out of freo
Now you're making stuff up
Now you're making stuff up
It would be sensible for the Rhys Palmer compensation pick to be part of the deal.
Brisbane is set to for worse ladder positions than Freo in the short term. The Palmer compo pick, whether it be band 2 or 3 will be worth more to Brisbane than Freo.
How about we just keep it for next year's super draft or use it as part of the deal for Jaeger O'Meara?
I'd say that's worth a fair bit to us...
Keplar is way to inconsistant to be considered for your number 1 or 2 key forward.
Johnson at best is average.
Pav plays like half a game up forward for you guys and isn't McPhee being used as a tagger for you guys ???
So you guys don't have a quality full time tallforward. Hence Clark being sounded out.
By Sounds overall it's going to be a busy trade week.
How about Brisbane trade Mitch Clark and their 2nd rd pick(its in the 30s) for Mayne and freo's palmer compo pick ?
Now if you think about it. Mayne and Clark have kicked the same amount of goals so they are equal value. But Mitch is highly valued ruckman as well. So Brisbane trade their 2nd rd pick for freo's compo pick to make up the difference in value there...
Relax Lach. It's a fair point but we'll see how it all plays out.
I grow tired of the "you're going to get screwed! He's out of contract! PSD PSD PSD!!!" gibberish that goes on here at this time of year.
The deal will likely be somewhere in the realm of fair for both parties I'd suggest.
I just don't think he's shown enough to warrant the cost.
I would take him, but is he worth a first round + and 500k?
That'd put him in the top 7-8 paid players at the club. Not worth it.
Well if Freo don't do a fair trade screw him send him into the PSD.

Which he would just nominate his wage at the reported $500k and not many would be able to fit him in their salary cap, leaving Freo to pick him up there for nothing. Richmond or Melbourne would be the only teams (I can think of) that have salary cap space to pick him up.
Port would be all over him.
What's fair?
I mean Adelaide coughed up a first rounder plus for Tambling...was that fair or idiotic?
We coughed up pick 8 + Medhurst for Tarrant...he'd shown more than Clark...much more, and it was still idiotic
Could they afford him? Rumour is they are likely to get Griff who would be considerably cheaper than Clark and if they manage to hang on to Butcher then they have a good ruckman/forward in Griff and a young, high potential KPF in Butcher.
With their financial woes they prob cant afford to take on Clark with his reported $500k+ price tag
Could they afford him?
Pretty Sure from next year onwards all Clubs have to pay 100% of their salary cap. Part of the new players pay deal. Meaning the port financial arguement has no meaning. And if clark is wanting a massive pay deal. Port would be ones most likely to pay for it. Also richmond has intentially made a decent amount of space in their cap so a player like Clark coming into the PSD... he could almost put 650 000 a year and they'd pay it.
Mitch Clark is certianly better forward than Keplar. By a mile. Half a decent season up forward and you think he has the potential to be as good as clark. Clark is more skilled, better mark, kicks longer, taller, stronger, can dominate a game and be a match winner and is actually worth something as a trade. Everyone has acknowlegded Clark is a very good ruckman meaning his value is significant. Keplar has reached his peak. Which is average. Thats why your going for clark... otherwise why would Freo be going for another Keplar? Sounds pretty silly to me if you guys are going for Clark if you guys consider him in the same ability bracket as Keplar.
Easiest way to put it to all you Freo people. The fact Mark Harvey is openly chasing him and has been since last year means that he rates him highly.
