24 years old still talking about potentially breaking games but still yet to do it.

But has no trouble demanding to go to his preffered club
Demanding $600k per year
Demanding to play in the position he wants

Sounds like this princess is worth more trouble than what he is worth, Brisbane will do well to be rid of him.

I was a huge mitch fan & really wanted the tigers to go after him , but the more i seen of him & read about him this year has been very off putting.

I am of the same opinion but the Lions would be mad not to try and get as much as they can for him.

Well it looks like..

Brisbane want a player and a first rounder from GWS if he goes there and are very interested in Clarke from Freo.

correction 600k

Thats outrageous. This bloke is worth $400k absolute max atm. He has shown nothing this year to suggest he should earn more than that. To be earning $600k at freo would put him in the top 4-5 paid players behind pav sandi fyfe and possibly mundy. Not keen at all. Please West Coast throw your hat in the ring and snaffle this bloke!

And if we trade Zac Clarke we will have taken a huge step backwards to the days of Chris Connolly and Cameron Schwab where they would make stupid trades like that. ABSOLUTE MADNESS. I trust our footy department have improved since then as our last couple of years of recruiting would attest to.

Very nervous about up coming trade period. With freo signalling they are going to trade- anything can happen!

I'm the same, really not interested in the bloke. Unless he is happy to get paid less and a fair deal is worked out. I'd be more interested in trying to trade for Chris Dawes.

Since it bears repeating... If Mitch Clark goes to GWS it will be as an uncontracted player. Brisbane getting "a pick and a player" from GWS won't happen. We'll get a Band 2 or 3 pick and have to suck it up.

If they trade Zac for Mitch i'll personally go over and slap a triangle choke on Bondy.

Consider this a warning.

No reason why we would do that is there? I could see;

  • Clark for a 1sr rounder
  • Griffin for a 2nd rounder
  • Clarke for Jaeger.

Those deals seem about fair to me, and I'd happily do the first two. And depending on what the go is with Moller and his certainty to come and readiness to contribute, I'd consider the third strongly. Would want to keep Griffin if that was going down though.

I think Freo would be a better team in the future if they kept Clarke.

To that I would say, he's all yours. At which point you'd be stuck with another tall forward/ruckman but this one's flogging 600K a year to play half his season in the WAFL. :thumbsu:

I'd like to think you guys would too. Would stuff you up for a while having to accommodate his $500K while he plays wafl.

I thought about all that before I posted and the fact is, at a pick in the mid 20s, we wouldn't get anywhere near the same kind of talent if we went to the draft.

Likewise, while Clark would be a terrible fit for 2012 and maybe 2013, he'd be exactly what we need after that - A tall forward to replace Lynch, a ruckman to back up Naitanui.

Hell, 1 injury to Lynch, Cox, Kennedy or Naitanui next year and he's in the 22. I also suspect he'd be better than Lynch in 2012.

The biggest issue in my mind is that huge salary and the questions it would raise about Lycett's future at West Coast

Yeah we would not trade Clark for a mid 20s pick.

I know.

What I'm saying is, I would like West Coast to put that pick on the table so that if Fremantle says to you "Nah, we'll take him in the PSD", you can go "Pfft, if we don't have a better deal than a first round pick by the end of trade week, we'll send him to West Coast".

If it actually turns out that West Coast get him, which would be a tiny chance, I'll be happy enough.

I would seriously warm to that 3 point scenario happening. Suffice it to say it's pretty much the only way I'd relinquish Clarke, as i've previously advocated on our boards.

Oh Clarke should be virtually untradeable. No doubt about that. But effectively getting a top 3 picks is why you say virtually. Chuck in a compo pick we get for letting them snare Crowley (another very reluctant trade) should seal it.

I can't get over the fact you freo people consider Z.Clarke worth a top 5 pick. Seriously... The bloke may have talent. But a top 5 pick??? Pendles was taken at pick 5... then Travis Boak, then Jarrod Grant, then Hurley, then Cunnington, then Polec. Honestly, only one I'd consider fairish deal would be trading Grant for Zac. You guys are kidding yourselves... you guys would be getting generous/awesome deal with a top 10 pick let alone a top 5 pick. The guy has played 22 games... 10 of which have been impressive. Not game breaking...just impressive...

And Freo fans are fools if you guys think GWS, Port, Rich, Melbourne wouldn't pick Clark up in PSD. Hell I'd call for brisbane to redraft him with their PSD pick he's such a good player.
If you guys think real hard about this... Richmond will just wait untill a trade is completed with clark before they make their move for one of your guys as they could just pick up Clark through PSD for nothing...
