600k means he will be earning a lot more than a lot of absolute elite players (Daisy re-signed for much less if reports are correct), big money from a non GC/GWS team....

If he doesn't agree to a trade...GWS get him.
He has no say...
If he refuses he needs to sit out of league football for 1 year...won't happen.
So for arguments sake...
The Lions and Freo can't come to a deal...Clarks manager tells him that if he doesn't look at other options he will end up at GWS/stay at the Lions or look at other viable options outside of WA that are better than ending up in Bankstown.

Freo supporters need to look at this in a reasonable manner...rather than saying..well he has moved home and that it.

This is a professional sport and the kid will not turn down $500k a year because he doesn't get his choice of going back to WA.

This time of year the muppets really show their faces. Please try at view things in a logical way, rather than in a one eyed childish manner.

If a trade can't be done with Freo and he's in WA already,i'd train with Freo and play WAFL....that will shut Brisbane right up!

I agree and think a reasonable deal will get done...Hope for Freo's sake,at no cost do we trade Zac Clarke...he can be used a running midfielder.

Deal is done.

Clark for Clarke and the palmer compo pick.

Currently you look greener than Kermit, 'Just turn right in the fork in the road'.
'Your little higher than thou' rant was a giggle.

Mitch has moved state and 'home'. He will more than likely end up here (Perth) for hopefully a win-win trade. It would need a lot of convincing to get him back to the Lions, may happen, otherwise I suspect the coin in Bankstown would be enough for 'the kid' to sleep at night if he can not get 'home'.

The Pies might be an option to give him a shot at a flag but he seems a $ or location focused individual.

Now I will let you get back to the 'Rainbow Connection'

Mitch Clark affair seems very much like the Warnock affair. If a player nominates a club, that club has the upper hand in the trade talks.

We got screwed in the Warnock trade and I can see the Lions not getting the full worth for Clark.

How many WAFL clubs will pay him $600,000 a year?

Also. if he is on another AFL list (which he almost certainly would be) then he would not be allowed to train with Freo.

Fail. Try again.

correct me if I'm wrong mate, but wasn't Warnock stuck playing footy in the ressies? Which would have made it hard for freo getting what they seem worthwhile on trade day

:)

He wont be on any list if he decides he wants to play WAFL and train with Freo. Cant force him to be on a list.

So no he wont get $600,000 but the second part of your counter argument is a fail from you.

You are the weakest link...

Freo would be crazy to do this deal IF TRUE.

This is shades of the old Freo.

Balony_pony,

My comment was in response to another comment. I certainly dont believe he will just play WAFL, I was just pointing out the flaws in the post I responded too.

My real thoughts are.

Mitch Clarke is an extreme talent and one the FFC is wanting. Contracted and playing to his ability he is definitely worth our 1st rounder and a quality youngster.

I believe Voss missed an opportunity last year when there were rumblings he wanted to come home, you would've not only got more in that trade, but you wouldnt have wasted a year playign this bloke.

Problem now is he has decreased his worth by playing what I believe would be below his ability and well below his potential. The fact he wants a trade, is uncontracted and has seemingly set up back in WA doesnt place your club in any strength at all.

What you get and whats he's worth are 2 completely seperate scenarios and although its gone back and forth Im dumbfounded by what your supporters believe you will get.

Once again what he is worth and what you will get are 2 seperate scenarios.

The kid has already reported turned down $750K a year to play with GWS. If he does end up in the PSD, which I will once again reiterate that I do not think will happen, then he will end up at GWS on at least the $750K that he already turned down. I don't think that will concern him. What will concern him is if he gets traded to Footscray on a contract of $500K.

There is no chance of him playing anywhere else other than Freo, WCE, Brisbane or GWS.

If he ends up going into the psd both GC & Richmond are real possibilities

And if they do take him , He will play make no mistake

If thats what GWS are offering then the same compo as what the Dogs got for Ward is what they can expect from Freo.

yep, it would be a 1st round pick. The lions have the upper hand into forcing freo to better it (ie extra player), as if not Clark can either stay at the lions or go to GWS where the lions will get that compo anyway + stop The GWS stealing redden next year.

Freo havent got as much power as their supporters believe ;)

yeh not happening. from what he's said, he's more eager to get out than go to WA. he has also stated he doesn't want to be with GWS, which dispite what other people say makes a big difference. sure if they drafted him he would play, but he would just try to get out again first chance he get's, and would create friction.

The chances of him being at Brisbane next year are almost non-existant but the above quote is rubbish.
