He played country football with my brother’s friend’s son. Sounds like a joke but true. They reckon he’s a gun

Are you high? Kelly won’t get us a pick in the 30s
I think they were being funny. Kelly won't nett us a pick under 80. Players that specialise in destroying momentum and are experts in the 20 metre sideways kick aren't in high demand in the AFL.

Maybe I am a bit optimistic, but just because you guys don't like the guy doesn't mean he's got no value. He's still young,he's regularly getting games, in fact he's playing most games most seasons and I don't know this for sure but I suspect he's on the lower end of the salary range. He has his limitations but in a team that protects its defense more his lesser ability under mega pressure wouldn't be so much of an issue. Take Ricky Henderson for example, he did a lot better when he didn't have so much pressure on his defense. For someone like Collingwood, that lower end salary will be an important point. For comparison, in the year b4 Seed came to us he only got 12 games, 2 after the halfway mark of the year. We traded 30 for him.

The posters you are replying to probably thought we'd get nothing for Atkins.

Lightning doesn't strike in the same place twice!

But Atkins was the AFL giving out a free pick, they don't care. Clubs really, really care about picks, they don't give useful picks for dross.

We overpaid for Seedsman, couple of seasons on and he's worth an empty chips packet.

The point is there were many here saying there would be zero interest in Atkins. There ended up being multiple clubs trying to sign him, many here were proven wrong.

The paranoid Crows fan in me thinks going after an attacking, mid-sized left-footed half-back/winger means we're worried about Hamill's head knocks.
You wouldn’t be the only one. Kept him out for the remainder of season is not a good sign.

Happy with the pickup but here’s a question. Ppl are saying Nicks wants flexibility, but I didn’t really see that this year. Our forwards were forwards, our back were backs, and our mids were mids. Exception that proves the rule is Laird, although once he went mid he stayed mid. Am I missing something?
Also, re flexibility, I don’t think it’s that important. I’d much rather have our coaches get our players to play to their strengths.
