Being at the ground last night allowed me to see both our inability to hit targets and our class players. Mitch Morton has added that touch of class to our forward line that it lacked with Pettrified in it. He also chases hard and tackles unlike Pettrified. He is just a beautiful kick of the football.

Well done Mitch. A steal as a swap for choice 35.

Well done Greg Miller. I think you got that one right.

Now add the Cotch into that team and release another that cannot hit a target and we'll be on our way.

He's bassically playing as our full foward these days

A great pickup for the pick IMO.

He just needs to improved on getting more disposals and not going to ground after every marking contest

Has he ever missed? If I could have picked any player to be in Jack's shoes last night it would have been Mitch, over Newman, Richo, Brown, Lids or anyone else.

yeah. i attend a lot of melbourne games and i noticed he runs really hard out of the 50 and chases all day. Puts a lot of pressure on at ground level in the 50 to and is a major contributor of the 1%s that are making us more competitive. time to rethink my username, i cant see a spot for pettifer.

he's pretty good but I reckon the maligned Pettifer has an extra trick or two on MM. Pettifer can mark and then push up the ground and win some pill...MM is a good mark and kick...needs to work on other aspects of his game but I grant him he's only played 12 or so matches so may add a string or two to his reportoire...In any case was a great pick up at 35:thumbsu:

any one else think he drops alot of mark or is it just me

i think hes awesome dont get me wrong just his marking on a fast lead always seems to go to ground and spill the ball

Mate Pettifer has had about one and a half decent seasons out of nearly six and half ...

Has had gaping holes in his form for the most part of his career ... sure he has the tricks , but how often does he produce them ??? .. this is the crux of the matter.

I say this to you every week pal , our vein of form now , whilst we aint winning , is the most promising in many a year ... its because we are building a team that is prepared to work their @rses of when we don`t have the pill ... this is just as , if not more important , than when you do have it .

Look at the current Hawthorn model and where thier success comes from ;) ... the pressure they put when they don`t have the pill is arguably the best i have ever seen .

Which makes our performance against them last week more impressive than it looked ... many teams have and will fold against thier relentless pressure but we stuck with them for four quarters

Point being , The Bowdens and the Tivendales and the Pettifers are synonimous with being lazy footballers when we don`t have the pill .... rest assured that it absolutely no coincidence that our form turn around has coincided with them being dropped .

I will preach this till blue in the face ... the results are there to see

Absolute steal for us at pick 35.

Was originally drafted as a midfeilder with a first round draft pick for the eagles, but he wasnt good enough to break into the side regularly only playign 12 games over 2-3 seasons IIRC.

But who could blame him? They had the best midfield in the comp by miles.

He is just so reliable by foot, and always gives us an option.

Well done GM

Mitch is a gun!

add Cotchin into the side and we have a real path forward.

players like tivers and pettifer are on the outer, i still would like bowden back in the side.

the way we are playing sends a message, we are no easy beats, a bit more tweaking and we will win those tight ones....

we need everyone behind the club, so our voices, cheers become the 19th man.......not like sydney, who put 19 on the ground!

cmon tigers!:D:D:D:D:D

Sitting in the stands, you can nearly hear Mitch and Jacky thinking their way in and around the Forward Line.......how ____ing good is that?......RFC Forwards who can think?.....WTF......HEAVEN !!

Mitch and Jacky Boy could tear holes in Back Lines for years to come.

They both work hard and DON'T CHEAT.

He was actually taken with a Father/Son pick in the 30s, but I distinctly remember a lot of people talking him up as a top-10 selection for 2004.

like to see connors thrown a chance at some point to:thumbsu:

Mitch Morton is a freak nothing less, He could possibly win mark and goal of the year in the future, he and Buddy Franklin were about on par at school football level and would have 40 possesions and 5-7 goals in some games. Newmans torpedo was impressive but morton would give him a run for his money with a torpedo comp, he times the ball so sweetly and will be a very good player the more pre seasons and experience is given to him.

Pre-draft he was rated in that group of Deledio, Griffen, Tambling, Roughead and Franklin.
Just taken a bit longer then the others to come on, but looking very good now:thumbsu:
