Mitch Morton is an absolute steal for pick 79. Highly talented with great goal sense. I remember a year where I had him in the forward line of my dreamteam and I recall being rewarded quite handsomely.

It's a shame he has had a couple of "off" years and his coach has decided he is expendable. Doubt he'd get more opportunity at Sydney, put clearly better than anything you could pick up with 79.

I managed to watch a few games between Hale vs Wesley or (Buddy vs Morton). At the time i had just started school and was a massive fan of both especially Buddy. At the time many in the stands including me would have said Morton is by far the better footballer at that time, but you would have to be blind to not see Buddys potential. But even some still thought Morton has more talent and was going to be the better player.

He use to kick out with torpedos 70 metres down the ground. I just think he still hasnt maybe found his ideal position/role. Excellent kick, can kick goals from all sorts of angles, has good agility and vision, can play midfield. From the outside he has two pressing things that he needs to improve (Richmond fans may know more), but he has to improve his attitude which probably leads to increase fitness levels and defensive pressure. His two main weaknesses i see in his game and that are so important in AFLs modern game.

Has talent and as many have mentioned these are the players Sydney turn into good serviceable players eg: kicking 30 goals a year. He may be a fill in for when ROK hangs up the wheels.

Definitely a low risk trade for the swannies. Would have taken him at the dons for what ever our 4th rounder was. He has talent, and there is no doubt he could be serviceable

Strange that Richmond got the best out of cousins' final years, but couldnt get mitch morton to his peak. Perhaps its his attitude towards training. Ben was a keen runner, where as Mitch is perhaps a little more lazy
Wants to succeed just gets confused about where he needs to run. Modern footy game plans have gotten the better of him especially on the defensive end. Its not through lack of effort though.

Guy has so much talent and can play. Always thought he could end up being in our top 5 players. Shattered we didn;t give it one more year but I think there is a bit more to this story as I know Hardwick thought Mitch had a heap of talent.

Hard to think of a young fella on his third club where it's all come right all of a sudden. Small bet for an area that we need help in but has to count as a real long shot.

Hmmm - He's a coulda, maybe, possible, perhaps, at Richmond. Not in our best 22 - for whatever reason. Probably just going to clog the list going forward.

Good pick up for the Swans (or anyone for that matter). Talent is always worth another shot.

Probably would have been delisted by Richmond. Oh well, we can take a flyer with #79 (wasn't James Hird a #79?) He was. And so was Aaron Hamill. You never know.
