Hear he has a bout of glandular fever.

Won't help his chances of getting a game anytime soon.

Was encouraged by the way Hardwick spoke about him the other night.

i think i saw that. was it on foxtel on the couch. Hopefully he comes bak soon. Apparently the club has been dropping him so that he has more time to improve his defensive game. Does anyone know what stage Mcmahon is at?? it would be very disappointing to c a talent like that go to waste considering he has amazing speed and his not a bad kick.

no not really. he does great speed and not a bad kick. unfortunately he had a huge marriage breakup and he hasnt been the same lately. i was wondering if anyone knew how far away he was
:)SADLY you will find next to zero love or support for McMahon on here. For whatever reason, most supporters have long vilified Jordy and laid a lot of the blame for our lack of success at his feet, even though he has rarely played the past two seasons. His only crime, accepting a huge contract the club was silly enough to offer! :DIf my work came and offered me double or triple what I get know, I'd gladly accept!!!
Sadly for the player himself, from what little I have seen at Coburg, his papers have been long stanped and he has zero interest in the game. sad that it can end up that way when you know the guy should be making a meaningfl contribution and given an opportunity to ply his trade. The team itself is better off having him play a more meaningful role and putting pressure on players above to perform.
I bear no grudge against Jordy .... not as poor aplayer as he is constanty made out .. and the treatment has been woeful!!!

hmm how far off the mark can one be.

mcmahon is not vilified hes correctly rated as a player.
i remember when he was first drafted by miller there were a lot of people who thought he could play and was a good get.

they ignored he was a turn over merchant at wb or that he was as soft as butter or he had little defensive side to his game. iknow this because all i ever copped was hes at richmond we have to give him a go. i keep telling people leopards do not change their spots.

personally mcmuffin has never been vilified just rated as being a below standard player. he has never been blamed for our lack of success those in charge in all areas of the club have been rightly blamed. though lots sat on their hands for yrs and facilitated to many still do.

I was just thinking about McMahon's situation earlier today and the effect within the playing group.

He must have mates there and I wonder what they think of the situation. Do they think Dimma is being too hard or do they think McMahon is being too sensitive?

Either way I imagine it's an uncomfortable situation and I can only imagine Jordan is still there to claim a paycheck.

I have no ill feeling towards him, sounds like he has been through a rough period but perhaps this situation can only be perceived as a negative, whichever way you look at it, by our younger and hopefully developing players.

Agree with this 100% :thumbsu:

Might be a lovely bloke, mightn't be as bad a player as the 'mcmuffin' tag would suggest but the harsh reality is that he was simply never ever ever worth the trade that was made to get him to the club and as such he was always gonna be rightly put under the microscope from day dot..

I actually think that most of us knew that he was not worth that trade but we tried to talk ourselves into thinking it was a decent move.. Sadly Jordy just delivered what we deep down expected him to.....:(

Some would think being disrespectful and calling him mcmuffin is vilifying him;)
na mcmuffin while maybe disrespectful is just being honest and a very apt way of summing him up as a player. no vilification at all.
and isnt it ironic we are having a debate about mc muffin on the mitch morton thread. anyone see the similarities.

Yes.

But one would hope Morton has time and ability on his side to change and become a footballer in Dimmas plan.

If not, the same end awaits...

Morton is shit loads a better player than Jordy. As Dimma said, he just needs to work more on his offensive/defensive game and he will be straight back in.

the concern with mitch is he had those problems at wce and took the easy approach he had them under wallace and now hardwick.
if history repeats mittch will end up at another club.

attitude intensity and imo laziness are all big problems with this bloke along with the way he plays.

as for time hes 23 he wants to hurry up and do something to help himself. the only one who can do anything about these things is mitch himself.

in saying all this yep he has genuine talent but talent without the right attitude means jack shit.

A while ago a west coke supporter, in a discussion on Morton, claimed that his father created trouble by lambasting the club because they wouldn't give Mitch a game, even though they were told he had things to work on.

If that's true, hopefully he is now away from his old man's influence and can pull his finger out.

It's amazing how such mindless intervention by parents can affect their children's career.

On On the Couch Hardwick said Morton had been sent back to work on a few things. Had ticked the right boxes on the defensive things but there was still a couple of offensive things he needed to work on, but was in our best 22.

Also said McMahon was told to work on defensive side, but no similar comments about ticking boxes or best 22. Just said he played well last week and its in McMahons court whether he plays this year.
