Bump. End of the Lion for Mitch Robinson.

First player ever to be delisted by two clubs after playing 100+ games for each - possibly not the stat you want to be known for!

Carved out an excellent career over 13 years. Shame we (and he) couldn't keep it together in his younger days. Never thought he would win a Best and Fairest at Brisbane though. Respect.

To be fair to Robbo he was going to retire anyway. He wanted to announce it to the fans and thank them after the Richmond game but Fegan wouldn't allpw him to.

sorry to intrude, but most on our board believe he is looking to play on at a victorian club if one will have him. that is consistent with the wording he has used around a lot of socials and the fact hes packed up and sold his home in brisbane

thats why he wasnt allowed to announce he was retiring. because he most likely isnt. and there was a chance he would get called up to our team if we had injuries over the course of the rest of the finals, so which game would be his last as a brisbane player was still up in the air

he has been a great servant for the club so its sad to see him go out with a chip on his shoulder. at the same time it seems poor form to do it immediately after last nights loss

Brisbane Lions warrior Mitch Robinson has officially announced his retirement from AFL on social media while giving his coach Chris Fagan a serve.

The 33-year-old has fallen out of favour with Fagan and had been a surprise omission for Brisbane’s last two finals. Robinson shared his retirement news on Instagram after Geelong handed the club a horror 71-point belting in Friday night’s preliminary final.
