Toast Mitch Robinson

I love it how in today's game players are willing to say they'll move, to up their price and keep their manager's happy. And then Robbo come's out and says this.

His rise this year has been massive for us.

Can't help but love the Bloke. Glad he's a Midfielder at Carlton now. Saw him play for the Devils v Geelong 2s @ Bellerive Oval the year we drafted him. Was playing on the ball and he was under Everything that day! All you could see was the proxided hair and a big pile on top of him wherever he went (but extracted many times!). Big part of the reason the Devils won that match. Love the fact we drafted him too.

Another terrific game from Mitch.
He's really learning how to read the play very well now.

That behind the back ball transfer whilst running showed just how confident he has become in his ability, but moreso than the tricks are his efforts which just don't taper off.
Had we DT points allocated for efforts, he may well be in front of the league at this moment.

That behind the back move was because he was losing control of the ball and managed to fluke it...

All the same, it was bloody good to see because he backed himself to keep the ball by doing it.

First the Special K comes out and says he isnt moving for money and loves the club... and now Robbo comes out with the same.

It's interesting how Daisy hasnt re-signed yet despite his comments about how he loves the filth. I reckon he has gone GWS bound. Just goes to show loyalty

Was just saying to a mate last night.

I see Robinson as our third most important mid behind Judd and Murphy. No disrespect to Simmo, Gibbs, Scotland, etc. But he is vital to our midfield these days. Has come on in leaps and bounds this year.

How about the way Warnock was tapping to him and he was literally bursting through the packs! Unreal.

At the start of the season I thought his deficiencies would keep him as a fringe player. But he has ironed most of them out, improved his all round game out of sight and put on some serious muscle to go with his kamikaze courage.

He is a vital cog in our engine room now. Blues bias aside, I can't think of a more improved player in the AFL.

He'll come 3rd in our BnF behind #3 & #5

Good call. .. Could even be a sneaky second but Murphy and Judd have had outstandingly consistent years. ..

Bit nervous that Mitch has an awful lot of demerit points against him and the bump on Saturday night has a fair chance of getting looked at?

which one do you think will get looked at?

if its the one early on, he was going for the ball and the other player just got lower (rare).

Contact between Carlton's Mitch Robinson and Essendon's Ben Howlett from the first quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. It was the view of the panel that Robinson had his eyes on the ball and had put his hands down towards the ball in a bid to win a contest for possession with player Howlett. Player Howlett gets to the ball first and high contact is made. It was the view of the panel that Robinson did not have a realistic alternative way to contest the ball and no further action was taken.

From an article about Judd on the CFC site.
How long before we can feel comfortable putting Robbo's name amongst that grouping?

I'd currently have Robinson at #2 behind Murphy for 2011.
Even including Scotland who's had a great year.

He loves Carlton and doesn't strike me as a guy that needs all the attention, which is good.

Mitch has just bought himself a female cat :)

Got better taste then the other boys at the club who have dogs, cats are much deeper and emotionally and intellectually superior animals to dogs.

Just wondering if anyone has any inside information on Mitch.

The broken fingernail he received today in his battering from the Demons players - is it career ending ???

haha he's actually pretty sore.. but he is after every game. he goes straight to his room after a game and lies on his bed for ages... he puts his body through absolute hell. runs his guts out. Mad respect for the kid xoxoxoxo

The best thing about Robinson is that he is unique!. In an era where bumping is discouraged and AFL players are staging for frees, Mitch is a talented, versatile and skillful footballer who sparks the living fear out of the opposition with controlled aggression!

Fantastic asset for the club.

^^^ have to agree.

he is a "real" hard player. not one of these manufactured tough guy personas.

Most teams have one but he combines the toughness with speed, athleticism and skill at the moment and is really important to us. ..
