Cummins took 14 wickets for the series !!! 1 more than Starc and Hazelwood !!! who took 13 each

But yeah go on just end there careers because they are not taking 5 fors every bloody time they bowl
A bit like Bumrah really, unbelievably unlucky and should have had more than 20 wickets.

Starc and Lyon profited from Cummins' good bowling.

A 10-for against the worst batting lineup in international test cricket. Two bouncers hitting heads, one leaving the field with concussion.

Good on him, but really am looking forward to England giving him a hiding bowling the same sort of hideous shit.

The way England are playing against the windies starc won't have to be at his best to knock over some pommy poles

England are a mile better at home. Starc will bowl trash, get tonked, have a sook. Rinse and repeat. I swear if we drop Richardson I’ll be beyond livid

Word coming from CA sources an hour ago is that siddle will be going to England not Richardson.

And that’s why we will lose, should just leave Starc at home. We better not drop Richardson for Siddle jeez

Lol sorry mate I couldn't resist. No way is that happening I just wanted to see if you'd spontaneously combust

It’s so bad it’s something the selectors would do!

I mean they thought Mitch Marsh was a good test player!

Well that low campaigner chappell will step down after the ashes so we may see less selection blunders in the future

Watch them replace him with warne lol

Soon as warne gets in watch stoinis make the australian team within 3 seconds. Probably make him the third vice captain too and given a higher salary than anyone else. In fact I could honestly see warne selecting a Victorian XI for our test team

Probably bring back Michael Beer as our spinner again

On current form I would argue England’s is even worse.

10-fer against a weakened Sri Lanka obviously needs to be viewed in context but it's pleasing to see two caught behinds and 4 bowled among those 10. Starc is at his most damaging when he is attacking the stumps and forcing the batsman to play straight. Caught behind, caught at first/second slip, bowled, LBW. That's his bread and butter. Bowl the odd short one to pin the batsman in the crease but don't make it the MO.

Hopefully it's a case of him running himself into a bit of form/rhythm rather than just cashing in against a poor opposition. Remember he wasn't particularly threatening in the first test and we won that easily too.

Read in the SMH today from, I think, Malcolm Knox, something that I think sums Starc up pretty accurately.

He is never as bad as his critics make him out to be. He is never as good as his supporters make him out to be.

That’s fair.
Not quite roebuck-esque but Knox is damn good

The bowling version of the flat track bully.

His career average is probably 50% lower against Sri Lanka.

The filtered numbers are matches against SL and WI, undoubtedly the two weakest nations he's played against. In 19.6% of career matches he's taken 27.5% of his career wickets against shit teams. Plus his average is 10 less.

I'm happy that he's turned in a stand-out performance on a fairly benign pitch, but given the depleted opposition I'm not convinced that this performance is anything but a one-off.

The same technical issues RE his wrist haven't really gone away and like others I've noticed that he still falls away in his delivery stride at times. He's not as 'upright' as he used to be.

he appears just as straight up and down as usual, but there might be some structural, empathetic, tyrannic, and suspect stuff going on...
