oh yeah, more of this eagle nonsence about palmer being a loose unit, arrogant, druggie etc etc etc..... give it a rest, until i see evidence to the contrary rhys is a champ who can do no wrong and in fact could be the closest thing to jesus that our club has had since one M. Pavlich was drafted

You'd be pretty disappointed if Dodd's absence for 10 games influenced a drafting decision one little bit. You draft for the next 10 years, not to fill a small hole for 10 rounds
. having said that. macdonald would be a great get for us in his own right. You'd be pretty disappointed if Dodd's absence for 10 games influenced a drafting decision one little bit. You draft for the next 10 years, not to fill a small hole for 10 rounds
On the main draft board it says he's been invited and accepted to go train with Melbourne this week. Only way we'd get him now you'd think is if we can entice him into the ND and take him with pick 36 which is highly unlikely
Thorp his manager announced it on SEN
Melbourne are pretty keen on Ball too but obviously they can't get both of them unless one of them goes into the ND. But once they're in there anything could happen so Melbourne must be prepared to use a pretty high draft pick.
Either that or they've cooled on Ball which would be good for us because it would guarantee either Ball or McDonald will be there for our PSD pick.
i think the general feeling is that ball will re-sign with the saints
"A couple of times at Brisbane, with their injuries in defence, he was playing on their big giant forwards," Pask said. "He's suited to that third tall or half-back flank.
"[He'd like] an opportunity to use his run, his kicking, his carrying the football. It's just about moving to a club that fulfils his best role.
The more I think about it, the less I understand why we would really need Joel Macdonald....
He is 187cm (the same height as Paul Duffield). And he doesn't really fill any huge holes in our team, because we have quite a few guys capable of playing the rebounding defender position - Hayden, Broughton, Duffield, Suban.
It would seem as though Macdonald has little interest in playing as a tall defender, and that is what we need. Drafting him would give us a replacement for Dodd, but even with all the crap he gets, Dodd is still a solid player and finished top 10 in our B&F. So I would hardly think he needs replacing...
I just think Pick 52/PSD would be better off being used on a young KPP, because there are a few who will be around that mark (Luff, Grimes, Astbury, Hartigan) and they are all possibilities to actually hold down a key defensive position.
But we seemed to have committed to using this PSD pick, and I think that could be the reason behind the invitations to Riggio and Stanley...
The more I think about it, the less I understand why we would really need Joel Macdonald....
......
thanks. looks like macdonald it is then... who i'd be more than happy with
We do NOT need another mid sized backman.
