Yeah, that should certainly help us out if that is what we are planning on doing come draft day.

I would be happy with him at 50, even if he is a bit of a gamble.

Jess Smith's body may never allow him to play footy again. And as good as he could be, we are not exactly short of running back pockets/flankers. Que: Bennell, Strauss, Chenney, Bell. Even Cam Bruce played that sweeping role across half-back a bit last year.

Thorp could potentially fill a masive whole that we have in our team. I know who I'd be looking at.

Thats true but at pick 34 or 50 he'd be well worth a punt. We definitely don't have a lot of quality small backs. Bell certainly not AFL standard, Cheney, Strauss are relatively unproven, Bennell looks like a keeper for sure but a fit Smith would be a massive upgrade over all of them. In most peoples teams for next year they have bruce, green or jmac as back flankers and i doubt this would happen.
