You can tell Mitchell's intent was to collapse Hanners throat and murder him he just didn't get the connection he wanted.

It is a weird call, and they've applied similar reasoning to the Robbie Gray trip. I mean RG threw his leg out, clipped the other guy who then fell over - but MRP lotto says not enough force. It's all very baffling.Their reason actually annoys me. They refuse to call an open hand striking so its a free hit.
With the same force but a fist i suspect they would have called it striking.
Sinclair fined for hitting Mitchell. Only a foot taller. Quite the tough guy. Probably the only contact he had all game.

... and, for the umpteenth time ... there was little in it.
You're right. If Mitchell didn't have form in cheap shots and dirty tactics it wouldn't get a second look.... and, for the umpteenth time ... there was little in it.

And you idiots wonder why people hate the hawks. How do you cheer sociopaths like Mitchell and Hodge and then have the gall to have a go at an opposition player when he does something 1/10 of the crap your "unsociable heroes" get away with?
I can handle a lot of the ****** nature of football supporters, but the blatant hypocrisy and lack of awareness and the cognitive dissonance, especially from hawk fans, is too much.
Someone should just be done with it and break Mitchell in half, the guy is universally despised by fans, opposition players and from close sources, most of his own team mates. They tolerate him because he is their play maker, but they don't have anything to do with him socially.
Speaking of sociopaths, you guys stole someone who has been suspended more times than Mitchell and Hodge combined, and since moving to the Swans has been let off twice for things which he would have been rubbed out for if still at Hawthorn.
Other than that, nice post !
Mitchell cops hits every single week. Every inside mid does. But unlike giants of yours like Hannebury, doesnt cry to the umpires.
In psychology, cognitive dissonance is the mental stress or discomfort experienced by an individual who holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values at the same time, performs an action that is contradictory to one or more beliefs, ideas, or values, or is confronted by new information that conflicts with existing beliefs, ideas, or values.
The cognitive dissonance is so strong in this post.
Better hope I dont go looking for Buddy posts from Swans supporters pre-2014... right?
Ah, more rational and non-emotional posting. Such a breath of fresh air.
No axe to grind here.
But sometimes they penalise. Sometimes they dont. And from the outside there appears to be no actual obvious system - despite all their points and gradings.
No kidding. But the Mitchell one wasn't "very baffling"; it was a straight-forward decision.
Clearly it wasnt. The MRP in the last couple of years has refused to charge people with striking if they use an open hand.
