Mitchell, Foley or Corey

Go look at the thread dedicated to Mooney, he is a glorified dud, he plays in a team with exceptionality all over the field and he benifits from that, he did not deserve All Australian last year and certainly doesn't deserve the accolades.

OK so there goes your credibility. No point arguing this further as you don't know what you're talking about.

Mooney is a very good player and more than deserved his AA guernsey last season. He's been down on form this year, that's true, but to say that he is a glorified dud is poor judgement.

He'd easily be in Richmond's best 18 and in most teams best line-up, bar maybe Brisbane.

No he wouldn't, no he isn't, he is a dud and the sooner you realise that the better.

Foley was more influential than Scarlett, Scarlett got a few lucky breaks down back and was on a dud in Mooney.
You were told not to vote because you're biased.

Your comment about Scarlett having a lucky break or two reinforces my opinion that you're an idiot.

I'd ask for Judd, but since we already have the best clearance player in the AFL, I have to vote for Corey.

I voted for Mitchell you ____nut!

Mitchell is a supurb player, still a fair bit ahead of Foley and Corey, Mitchell is going to go close to a Brownlow this year and will almost definetly be AA.
SO BIASED!

He was Top 3, behind Harvey and Fevola, Foley was also the guy who got the Vics back into the game, he was definetly one of the most effective through the 4 quarters.
I agree he was probably top-3 for the Vics. Along way from "by far the best" (on the entire ground) like that other joker suggested, but probably in the top-3 for the Vics.
Foley is a gun, and he certainly uses his pace and acceleration to advantage which is a weapon that Mitchell doesn't have, but Mitchell is still the master at the moment.

This year so far Mitch has him covered in disposals, kicks, long kicks, marks, handballs and more importantly 1st possessions and clearances.

(didn't vote in the poll as requested)

You should. Is pretty clear that many Tiger posters have voted.

Mitchell
Corey
Foley.

Mitchell easily, it'd be extremelly hard to pass up an elite clearance player, especially when you havn't got one.

Mitchel>>>>>>>>Foley>Corey

do you guys think its fair to constantly penalize geelong players because they play for the best side ? every time someone from geelong is being rated or compared to another player its always mentioned that they are made to look good.Their would be only 3 exceptions to this rule being ablett, bartell and scarlett .Are these 3 players that good that they are completley responsible for how good geelong is ?

corey is much better than foley, and around the same as Mitchell.

Dont forget that playing in the better side argument has 2 parts to it the first being yes it can be easier to play around other top players, but att he end of the day their must be a reason a side is so good. Are ablett, bartell and scarlett that good ?

The reason Corey is not in the same class as either Mitchell or Foley is because at BEST he gets the third best tag by the opposition so thus has more room to play with then the others. What is more likely is that Corey is good because he is in the best side and in any other side would not make as big of an impact, although that is just speculation.

thats the problem with this line of thinking its just speculation.I acknowledge that mitchel and foley get the 1st tag while corey gets the third. However if they were playing at geelong they would get the 3rd tag as well. The way geelongs midfield plays is it that had to conceive that geelongs 3rd best midfielder is better than richmonds 1st ?

Just because west coast have gone of the boil dosent prove the theory about players being made to look good.look at powell from the lions he was number 5 in their midfield in their glory days and is still considered a top playertoday.

Mitchell
Corey
Foley

All 3 are great players. Mitchell is a genuine superstar. Corey is a great player surrounded by a brilliant team, and Foley is an up and coming star.

That's probably about the right order. I rate Mitchell as Hawthorn's best midfielder edging out Hodge. Corey is a lot better than many people think and is often underrated as he is shaded by Bartel and Ablett in the Cat midfield. Foley is an emerging player who looks to be improving every time I watch the Tigers (I do enjoy watching Richmond play this year).

Even though Corey is getting caned in this poll I wouldn't want him to leave Catland. But I voted for Mitchell.

REB

Not being biased but why at this current stage is Mitchel 2nd. He is daylights ahead of the other 2 and anyone who knows anything about football will know this.
Anyone who knows anything about football would not make this statement. I'd rank Mitchell just ahead of Corey, who is just ahead of Foley. Three great players.

1st in the afl in clearances

Mitchell easily.

All that and he missed the game against Adelaide in Tassie.

He doesn't have the pace of Foley but I would take Mitchell over the other two any day of the week and twice on the weekend.

corey is much better than foley

Nobody is clearly better than the other.

As much as I love Foley, Mitchell is currently the slightly better player. He may not be able to break the lines or win a centre clearance, burst forward and kick a running goal... but he does everything else Foley can do and averages slightly higher in most categories.

Corey is an awesome player too but he is only equal with Mitchell/Foley despite having Ablett, Selwood, Ling, Bartel etc assisting him.

I mean, look how crap the West Coast midfielders are now that Judd and Cousins has gone. Corey is great but Geelong would be a better team with Mitchell or Foley in their side.

So the poll appears to be 100% accurate IMO.
