If he can skittle them in perth he will become a national hero, and he doesn't even have to perform in the last 2 tests

Anyone remember Ashton Agar? :p

He is playing so well it makes you wonder whether..

Actually scrap that thought. He would not be on the field.

Calm down, champ.

He's right.

At the Oval, it was unbelievable, he was on fire and bordering on unplayable.

The Poms can say what they want, deny it all they want, but they are genuinely scared of him. Bell, Carberry and Panesar were the only ones willing to dig it and get behind the ball, the rest didn't have the stomach for it.

Amazing display from him so far, and amazing to see.

His best has always been top shelf, but his bad was horrible, and there was rarely a middle ground. Not anymore.

Started bowling short and fast, or at the wickets and fast again. Like Brett Lee, that's all they should ever bowl.

Huge expectations on him heading into perth. I reckon for perth he should just stay calm and focus on line and length, if he does that the massive mental demons he's given the poms will take care of the rest, especially because they'll be expecting him to bounce them.

He's always been up and down, and having an epic test series doesn't really change that perception in its own, but **** me, his up this series has been very very uppish. Brutal stuff.

Calm down, champ.

I reckon he's right. Was as good as spell as anyone would see.

The difference between MJ and DKL is we have still have no idea whether MJ can keep backing this up whilst we know that DKL kept it up for about 10 years.

Here's hoping the current run continues. Bowling like this MJ is the most feared bowler in the world. Even more than Steyn, who is not so much feared for this pace anymore as much as his all round brilliance.

His stats are right up there with Akram after the same amount of tests:

After 53 Tests: Wasim Akram 222 wkts Mitchell Johnson 222* wkts

After 53 Tests Wasim Akram 1156 runs (ave 19.59), 100s: 1, 50s: 4 Mitchell Johnson 1514 runs (ave 22.93), 100s: 1, 50s: 8
