A spinning all rounder (and Maxwell barely bowls enough to be called that) is pretty useless in Australia.Maxwells scored close to 400 runs in last 3 shield innings and has a much better record.

a) The selectors need to give him a full domestic season at least. He’s taken great strides already in my eyes.
b) People need to get off his back. He’s still one of our best prospects and is in no way a ‘hack’, as his detractors would have you believe.

His father has no input on national selection.
Its happened, again.
Why do the selectors keep going back to this guy?
20 tests as a batting all rounder have proven he is shit.
Does he hold nudes of Mark Waugh? Or has Glenn Maxwell hooked up with a selectors daughter?
watch the selectors **** with his brothers form by dropping Bancroft and moving Shaun up the order once again, so they can slot mitch at 6.
Really? And how is that? It's a shame when selection in the Australian team is patrilineal not statistical.
Really? And how is that?
Doesn't really matter. The only thing I’ll say is do we need a 2nd spinner in Perth though?
I would have picked Maxwell instead of Handscomb personally as a bat.

Sure.A spinning all rounder (and Maxwell barely bowls enough to be called that) is pretty useless in Australia.
Well its not based on his actual output as a cricketer, so what else? 21 tests, 35 innings as a top six bat and an average of 21.74 and a first class average of 30.07. In what universe is that worthy of the amount of chances this bloke has been given?
Viable fifth paceman alternatives?
That Smiff gives about 4 overs to anyway.7th Highest run scorer in the shield this season, he's the logical choice if you want a seaming all-rounder

But that isnt why theyve picked Marsh in the squad.Sure.
If you're picking a potential number 5? Id be actually looking at the batting side of things.
Sure.Not selecting one.
Wonder who's pulling the strings when they keep getting dropped? There's a master puppeteer battle going on behind the scenes somewhere. No doubt his old man Rod Marsh pulled a few strings to get him in the team just like he did with Shaun.
