He has scored more runs in one dig than Handscomb's has managed for the series.

The selectors have been absolutely killing it so far in this series. All they need to do is to find a wrist spinner for the Sydney Test and pretty much everything will have fallen into place.

They replaced him based on desired team balance and Marsh was the most inform player of the type they wanted.

I would say picking the best (and most in form) seaming all rounder in the country would come under merit, when looking for one

Thrilled for Mitch. Has been a terrific innings thus far with hopefully much more to come tomorrow. He's copped a fair bit of criticism in the last few years, so to silence them today was excellent. Part of that I will never understand- the trolling, that is; direct your anger at the selectors, not the player.

I am a big fan of his- he is very fun to watch in full flight- he hits the boundaries often and can play most shots in the book. And boy does he hit the ball hard- even balls that go straight to fielders take some stopping.

Even so, I was surprised that he was brought back so soon - I wanted him to go back to shield cricket and really build on his list A form because I think he still has a big future at international level. However, the test will be against the moving ball - and backing up today's inning.

Feel for Maxi/handscomb, though. Maxi can't really do much more, batting wise. He's surely got to get another gig sometime soon.

You are not undermining what happened on the cricket field, that's not possible for you or anyone else to do and that is not what was being said. His point is that you are undermining your credibility as a poster.

Remember seeing him as a 17 year old and he could belt the ball harder than most first graders around the country. Some of those straight drives yesterday were an absolute treat. Hopefully this is the one innings that makes everything click for him because he’s good for Australian cricket.

He played wonderfully yesterday and thats great for Australian cricket, although does not eliminate the critique of his selection due to the inherent obsession with an allrounder and the clear favouritism that led to that selection.
