He's not bad in the field, but hasn't fielded much at 1st slip during his senior career so probably just taking some time to adjust.
He's been fielding at one for a while with WA, so not true. Was just napping.

With what continuity? How many games? He's been fielding at one for a while with WA, so not true. Was just napping.

I think first slip is the hardest spot on the field. Give me gully any day.![]()
Bit different when the likes of Starc are bowling, but fair enough.Haven't seen him outside of first slip for WA for as long as I can remember.
And he fields in that position in club land as well.

Second or third for mine, at first you still get the odd feathered one. If you are at second or third the batsman's usually had a big slash at it and the ball is travelling at a fair rate to you. With what continuity? How many games?

I think for me it’s more the keeper being in front of you that would make it difficult.Second or third for mine, at first you still get the odd feathered one. If you are at second or third the batsman's usually had a big slash at it and the ball is travelling at a fair rate to you.

Having said that mid on/mid off were the places I hated fielding! Put me behind the wicket any day of the week.
Stuff the long chases, if an edge got past me at gully it was either points problem or 4.They always come flying along the ground at mid on/off and if it’s just wide it’s a long chase to the boundary! I like the gully but been short fine leg a lot this season then gully to left handlers

Haha. I was just about to post the same thing. Even if you knew you were nowhere near it, it's much easier to make an extravagant dive rather than trying to run the ball down.I did the old dive and lie on the ground till someone else chased it the other week!
Getting Cook out in the 60s.So Marsh's contribution so far in this match is????
So nothing so far then.Getting Cook out in the 60s.
Because Smith dropped him. Marsh drew the edge of a set batsman in his second over and has only had two 3 over spells since. Hasn't been given much of a chance to impact with the ball.So nothing so far then.
Cook is still in.

Mitch lacks the subtlety of Watson’s bowling, which was very handy indeed. We need someone who can bowl cutters and slower balls on a wicket like this. Make the batsmen force the pace.
Today was a great example of why we battle to take 20 wickets in England
