I have strong doubts as to whether Rohan can really make it back after that leg break. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to be sitting here in a couple years thinking what could have been if it didn't happen.

Everything I've read about him since then makes it sound like they're re-developing him into a full time medium sized forward. I don't think he's coming back as a quick winger like Jetta.

He does have time on his side unlike Brown who was in his late 20's when he broke it, Barlow is only starting to regain a glimpse of the form he showed in 2010 so it does take a long time (2-3yrs).

I tweeted Rohan and he said that the leg break won't impact his speed. He also said the doctors believed it wouldn't it at all. I blame that prick Thomas.

Physically it might not. Psychologically? Until he gains the trust back in it, I think it's going to take another year before we see what he is capable of.

If Rohan realises his potential. I still think it will be

1. Mitchell
2. Rohan
3. Parker

This news warms my heart <3

If Rohan realises his potential... He could be one of the best players in the competition let alone this team.

Rohan seems like a genuinely good guy to have around the club. Never sooked or dropped his head after the injury and when we won the flag you could see that he was just as happy as every one of the 22 that played that day.

Might not be the break itself, it's the soft tissues and ligaments that could be the worry. In any case, hope it all goes well.

The younger you are when you break a bone, they better the recovery.

Plus I don't think confidence coming back will be an issue, he'll be rarin' to go and hard as soon as possible.

For me on present values;

Parker
Rohan
Mitchell

Going forward and assuming no more injuries\hioldbacks, i thin k it'll end up as

Mitchell
Rohan
Parker

Tank + Big Pre Season and he can be a dangerfield type. Breaking out of the stoppages with his pace he can be lethal. All down to hard work.

I just wouldn't be expecting it next year. He's got such a huge injury to recuperate from that it wouldn't surprise me if next year was a bit of a holding pattern for him.

Also, I don't think Rohan will quite be a Dangerfield kind of player. I get what you mean with his burst of pace out of packs but I can't see him becoming quite as "bull at a gate" as Dangerfield is (he really is a marvel to watch at times - cracking player). I see him as more of a Goddard/Wells kind of player (those 2 aren't particularly similar but I think Rohan can be a little of both). Can go and win his own ball but give him a sniff in space and you will not catch him. Adding the forward string to his bow now I think is a smart move and also I think it is where he best helps out our time (given he gets over this injury all well and properly).

As I say though, I'd be appropriately tempering expectations for him in 2013 though of course I still see him as a star in the making.

People are vastly overrating Tippet. The guy's a good player but he's not elite IMO. I'd be disgusted if we gave up pick 22 + one of those players for him.

Not saying that anyone here thinks we should, but plenty of people on BF are suggesting it.

Too hard to call right now given their different stages of development. As it stands right now and not on what they might be, I'd go Parker, Rohan, Mitchell

Rohan
Parker
Mitchell

I put Rohan first, because i remember in 2011 and pre-2012 we were hoping how he would develop into a pretty diverse player that can play in a variety of positions with a lot of x-factor. It may take a bit longer with the leg break, but he'll be a great player. Mitchell is unknown quantity, i haven't seen him play yet.
Same as Ed and for the same reasons

Rohan
Parker
Mitchell

Crows and neutrals don't know how good these guys are because they don't know our team. They put jetta in the untouchable category because they saw him outrun rioli in the Gf* and claim getting mitchell +22 is unders for tippett.

They're clueless.

*not dissing jetta at all, he's been a weapon for us

The club wont rush Rohan under any circumstances so i believe they will ease him back for 2014 this article is fairly old (may) but look away if your squeamish OUCH at that xray

1. Rohan - He'd be my favourite young player at the club. He'll be an absolute gun.
2. Mitchell - He could be the next Sam Mitchell. I love watching him play. A traditional midfielder.
3. Parker - I think I easily forget Parks is only 19 because I'm not his biggest fan to be honest. I think he'll be a solid player but I'm yet to be convinced he'll be a star. Really hope he'll prove me wrong.

Parker
Rohan
Mitchell

But the biggest upside is Mitchell then Rohan.

So the list could be the complete opposite by the end of next year.

The truth is only time will tell. Barlow is a different style of player-his strength is his footy smarts-knowing where to be, and where to send the ball. His kicking is still not back to its original level, and it was never his strong point. Gary may come good and he has to think like that. I don't think we could have won a premiership so soon if we has swapped picks 6+14 for 3. I think we dodged a bullet not getting Dustin Martin. Where was the
"no d-head" policy that draft?
