I have to grudgingly admit that Ayres' 'youth policy' this season has meant we can't expect much consistency or regular wins. His exposure of a number of kids will be good for their development whether or not Ayres is there next year.

He also can't be held responsible for indifferent form from some of our top-shelf players...he is a victim of circumstances you could say.

Unfortunately, his poor match-day coaching (apart from the Port game, which makes me think someone else had the reins that day) means his future isn't good.

In general, match day coaching by Ayres and the group is abysmal.

Ayres was outcoached again last night after being given a 5 goal start courtesy of a Malthouse coaching error.

As Rucci said this morning, once Malthouse restructured in the 2nd quarter, Ayres and crew as usual came up with zero counters - no plan B.

Add to that ordinary selections, and match-ups, and the case for Ayres is wafer thin.
