Haven’t addressed our main issues. Keep spending money on big hitters and haven’t addressed our pitching issues. Our SP’s are mostly junk yet somehow the club seems to think that loading up on more hitters will get the job done. Must throw the cheque book at pitchers in the offseason no matter the price

Certainly they could do with another starting pitcher. Yankees lost that series because they left half a dozen stranded in scoring position every game. Top of the order was brilliant, middle and bottom was horrendous.

That series loss was actually on the batters IMO.

Bullpen was best in the league by a mile

That was just a clutch AB from a freak of nature

They need starting pitching badly

There bullpen was gassed by G4 cos there starters couldnt go more than 5-6 innings without getting racked

Need starters, for sure. Scherzer types will help them. Just ignored defence at times due to their ridiculous offensive line ups.

Would never of started chad green and it cost them in the end today and was there only real blunder IMO

The better team won

Same with Nats. This World Series will be won or loss on their starting pitchers firing the first three games. Scherzer will be huge, Stratsburg too

Absolutely. 3 times bases loaded in the series for only 1 run. Nothing to do with pitching losing this series. Encanarcion was simply a liability and unfortunately Stanton was injured so they couldn’t switch him out even though they clearly wanted to as they were willing to risk in game 5 and made it worse. Sanchez was also awful both hitting and behind the plate. That passed ball in the 8th allowed one more batter which allowed Altuve to be the 4th hitter in the bottom of the ninth, sometimes the little things matter, just like the Reddick and Brantley great catches (especially Brantley turning a double play).

But to the point, the starting pitchers were not the issue. Verlander wasn’t the difference in game 2 which the Yankees pitchers also held to a close game before the hitters failed them. He also got beat in the 5th. It was a hitters series with Astros hitting 3 3 run homers being the difference.

All about starters for me. Yankee starters only pitched 23 of 55 innings in this series. Bullpen got exposed and Astros adjusted. Look at Gurriel, faced Green four times and adjusted fourth time he faced him.

Others batters adjusted as well, they figured Green out in the end. They had their chance to sign another starter at deadline and didn’t.

The lineup next season for the Yanks will be completely different with players like Didi and the Parrot going but they will nab an ace starter but i think it will be Bumgarner if anyone.
Nats will win this, gotta stick with my WS prediction although the Astros are obviously faves and the better team.

haha probably not, he is gonna be making 250m plus. Might even get close to the 300 with his age and how he has pitched the last 2 seasons.
Might make it tough for us wanting to pay that being we have been burnt with big contracts in the past but he is worth it.
Hopefully the come home factor gives us some discount

We have some problems, but the 'pen ain't one of them.

Osuna has been accused of domestic violence against his former partner but charges were dropped after she moved to Mexico and refused to testify against him while he was with another team.

Yeah this smells bad. I’m not sure I believe the scenes in the rooms after just clinching the league would have been a “difficult time” for Osuna. May need to stay tuned with this one.
