FMD what a disgraceful start by the braves batting lineup - just played a double header against the diamondbacks - had 1 hit in the first game and zero hits in the second game. The 1 hit was a bloop single in the 6th inning as well. Double header and the diamondbacks didnt use their bullpen, how embarrassing

Their 2-6 hitters are hitting .205, .184, .164, .190, .173 - disgraceful. I sort of expected Ozuna and D'arnaud to be a fair bit worse after basically career seasons last year (60 games as well) but Freeman at .205, Albies at .164 and Swanson at .173 is killing us.

The Braves as a team are hitting .228/.323/.424. That’s good for a 103 team wRC+, which is 9th best in baseball. The MLB average slash right now is .232/.310/.391. Hitting is hard.

It must be a dream for pitchers with high velocity and good ‘stuff’. I reckon hitting is as hard as it’s ever been.

Some weird stat i heard the other day, cant remember what year but in the first two weeks there were more 100mph pitches thrown than the whole of 2016 i think....crazy

Edit: found this graph for number of pitches over 100mph in the first week:

Doesnt surprise me considering how hard he throws it. Shocking injury, the MLB's version of the ACL injury in footy

and the pitcher usually comes back stronger and throwing faster, and I don't recall hearing a pitcher re-injuring their elbow once it has been done

Crazy! Their slump is as impressive as the A's turnaround. From a 0-6 then a 1-7 start to the best record in the league. It's really competitive this season - heaps of teams in the mix.

Bad enough LaRussa didn’t know the extra inning rule that would have allowed him chance to avoid using Hendriks as a base runner, but none of his coaches or players must have known either of no one said anything! Crazy

Probably the right move by the Angels for their 2021 season as he is an ineffectual bat these days but a poor way for his career to potentially end.

It’s almost like getting fired from your job, buying a lotto ticket on the way home and winning the jackpot. 😂
