Often overlooked when assessing the Pujols contract is the fact that it added a heap of value to the Angels' TV rights. Before Albert, the Angels were worth $US500 million over 10 years...when Pujols signed Fox Sports West paid $US 3 billion for a 20 year deal.

Trout and pujols for 3 playoff games......alot of money for 3 playoff games.

It's not like the Angels haven't been trying to sign big name free agent pitchers over the years, but they keep getting trumped by other teams. Plus they have had no luck at all with home grown talent - the tragic death of Nick Adenhart affected the club for years.

Tigers 5-3 winners over Seattle

Sees us reach 25-35. Been pretty competitive of late as there was a bit of a 'rough patch' early where we went 4-21 for a stretch and were barely registering a hit.

Struggling to close out games though. Cycling through the bullpen frantically in the last few innings each game.

Never a dull moment for the Tigers at the moment. Up 3-0 after 5 innings, finishes 3-3 after 9.

Go 4-3 down in 10th. Scramble a tying run thanks to a wild pitch. 4-4 going into the 11th.

Top of the 11th they have a runner on 3rd, one out. Intentionally walk a batter... why? He'd only had one hit in the game. Then hit the batter with the next pitch loading the bases. Now down 9-4.

Casey Mize pitched the first 6 innings, have used another five pitchers since then. Sheesh
