just watched mick on bigpond tv... ill say what i remember in point form...

-mentioned nothing about him retiring...

-he says he feels that the younger players tired after the previous interstate trips...

-he was upset at bronx cheers for clokey.. said that he WAS ill last week and did well to play this week even tho he trained well y/day... also said he was pleased with clokes efforts this season considering he was our main forward target..

-pleased with browny this season and expects him to "dramatically improve next season".. tonights game would be a valuable lesson...

- hinted that JA will be a forward again next season and rusling and reid would be tried down back.. earmarked reid as a CHB..

-EITHER wakes or presti to be let go- after discussions with both players..

-happy with the efforts of a secondary forwardline as pre season plans heavily involved rocca, DICK, rusling and reid as the core group..

-DID NOT MENTION DIDS AND HEATER
thats all i cam remember from the 10 minute reports..

also paid credit to the saints(but who cares about them)

i posted this in my other thread too.. but never mind.. mods delete that post if u like..

Rusling down back??????? WTF. He is a one position player. It's FF or nothing. As if we don't have enough undersized key backmen as it is.

Kids tired of interstate trips , good thing he doesnt coach a out of melbourne team anymore,. What an ass wipe he needs to admit he was out coached tonight and accept the blame and move on. Saints didnt win collingwood lost that game.

still bitter about losing mick i see..
your probably right he was outcoached.. he could of said our team was ravaged by injuries etc but didnt..... all in all we had a reasonable season... we got more games into our youngsters.. we had some more finals exprience..

Let me see we have played in two grand finals and won one since mick has been gone while collingwood has won none. Nope bitter wouldnt be the word i would use. ( Now grateful might be)

Nah, not bitter. That's why they "won't" trade with Collingwood.

Mick was a great coach for our footy club, and was without doubt the main person responsible for creating the culture of (on-field) success which Worsfold has carried on. But honestly, his time was up after 10 years and I don't think any Eagles supporter was bitter to "lose" Mick - sad to see him go maybe as it represented the end of an era, but definitely not bitter. Contrast his departure with Chris Judd's though - talk about bitter...

That is the price you pay when you only travel interstate 4 times.

Poetic justice really.

Of course he didn't, and I wouldn't expect him to either. I'm sure he wanted to mention them though, but he can't until the hierarchy and the leadership group officially announce that they are required players.

Come on now, not even exeperienced players want to travel every second week. Chris Judd returned to Melbourne so he wouldn't have to. Daniel Kerr is about to the same. Robert Warnock is coming back from Freo. David Mundy is going to do the same. Ben Cousins probably wants to play for a team that doesn't fly every second week. As for inexperienced players of any team, the interstae clubs included, it can be taxing to fly from Melbourne to Perth to Melbourne to Adelaide to Melbourne in the space of three weeks.
What an ass wipe he needs to admit he was out coached tonight and accept the blame and move on. Saints didnt win collingwood lost that game.
Collingwood were always going to lose a final once Didak and H.Shaw were suspended for the season. Collingwood were not going to win the premiership without them, so it was just a matter of which final it was going to be. The only thing I wanted was a win in the first week because of the invaluable experience of it for the youngest team that won a final since Brisbane in 2000.

To lose with 27 scoring shots to 21 scoring shots to St.Kilda is not a disgrace by any means, and I think that most impartial commentators would predict that a full strength Collingwood is more likely to finish in the top-4 next season than a full strength St.Kilda. Providing they show the same intensity of the past six weeks, which I think they will following the punishment they handed out to Didak and Shaw six weeks ago.

did wc fans notice when MM was caoching over there, that he never admitted any responsibility for losses? Just curious.

Rus down back?

Wow. Now all we have to do is get opposition forwards to promise to run in a straight line, and it might work.

That's good as. If Reid shows something as CHB then we have
1. A FB/CHB combo that will last 10 years and be amazing
2. No problems - our lack of defenders and overabundance of forwards will level themselves out
3. We can go into the market for a midfielder

I know it gets mentioned a lot, but a spine of

FB: Brown
CHB: Reid
C: Pendlebury
CHF: Cloke
FF: Rusling

Would be absolutely amazing - and they're all under 22 years of age meaning that if Reid works, they will mature and peak together.

I very much doubt Rusling will be given a go down back. He is too valuable as a leading forward, plus once the ball hits the deck he is pretty useless.

Round 1 next year I want to see Reid playing back, and Rusling leading out of the goal square :thumbsu:

Don't be a w***er. We travel as often as most other Victorian clubs, don't count the games that the povo ****s sell interstate and you will see that our draw really isn't as unfair as the ********s from the other vic clubs say it is. How often would you like us to travel? There are 6 interstate clubs, do you want us to have to travel to every single one of those? We travel 4 times a year, thats how it is, don't like it, get the **** over it.

Presti has played 1 game in a year and a half... and MM wont ever give Wakelin a crack at forwards that are on fire (ie Reweildt/ Franklin) - Its pretty damn obvious who MM will go for.

Sad to say MM's opinion of Wakelin involves a set of blinkers and Wakes will go if Presti tells MM he should be right for a handfull of games in '09.

Look guys no disrespect intended - however look at the draw-

3 Vic teams travelled 5 times (not Collingwood)

4 Vic teams travelled to Subi twice (not Collingwood)

5 Vic teams travelled to AAMI twice (not Collingwood).

In fact if you lay the fixtures out - the two Victorian teams who had the esay end of a travelling draw were Collingwood and the Dogs as they travelled the least and were the only 2 clubs who only went West once and AAMI once.

Problem is Collingwood get this draw every season.

I understand the commerical reasons why ...I am just pointing out that for Mick to say the travel hurt the young ones - well that is the price you pay for the favourable travelling draw.

If he wants to toughen them up in regards to travel ...they need to travel more.

How can you say he was out coached idiot, we had more inside 50's and more scoring shots, not the coaches fault if the skills go missing, they go missing because people are tired, and it is not like he could do anything about it with all the senior guys sitting in the coaches box, han no one to bring in. Tell me what other coach would have got that young list into a semi in the first place, the bloke still has it.

Seriously, what so called 'supporters' are f*cking doing this crap? It is a disgrace and an embarrassment.
If anyone off these boards is involved in that sort of low grade, sniping bullsh*t you should hand in your membership.
The kid is 21 and absolutely busts his ass for us all year in arguably the hardest position on the ground for a kid.

He has played one out for a lot of the year, and in a game where our forward line had about 2m's of space to move in, we are bronx cheering Cloke because he couldn't find space to get a kick.
Disappointing in my mind.

We didn't say it, Mick did, so why are you telling us?
We know what our draw looks like, thanks for the thought though.

Not all of you do obviously.

Anyway best of luck next year....I'll make like a shepherd and flock off

How many of those clubs travelled to the Gabba and ANZ as well as Subi and AAMI twice?

By the way, sorry for being an ass in my other post. I was in a foul mood yesterday.

We traveled to Adelaide in round 20, to Perth in round 22, back to Adelaide in the first week of the Finals .......

Moo the Muppett!
