2011 will be Malthouse's 12th year coaching Collingwood and I doubt it will be his last.

I don't think he will ever coach Collingwood. I think it is all presumption and wishful thinking by supporters.

Some people are going to be very disappointed around here I think.

Why do you say this, Kirby? Have you heard something?

As sad as i am in saying this i don't think Mick is going anywhere in a hurry. I'm sure i heard mick say not to long ago that this would be his last post as head coach, and for that reason i see Mick hanging around for a few years yet. I am not saying Mick is a bad coach, he was the perfect fit for a club on it's knees at the end of the 90's, but i think the time has come for Mick to let go if we don't go deep into september. 10 years is a long time to be a head coach and to do it twice is an outstanding acheivement, but without the ultimate success it's like dancing with your sister. I also don't see BUCKS ever coaching the Pies. I've just read BUCKS book also and would recomend it to anyone.

No Snag. Just my opinion based on gut feel.

I think he is an intelligent man and he knows that he would be under ridiculous scrutiny and pressure if he coaches us. I think he will coach elsewhere and will do what is best for his career (which is entirely his perogative).

I would like him to coach us though in due course I just doubt that he will.

He states in it that he would like to be an assitant elsewhere and then become a head coach whther that be collingwood or elsewhere he doesnt mind.

Basically if this is MMs last year i would say buckley wont be our coach, and if we go past others like Scott, Hardwick etc and go for say a williams from port i will be ready to kill

Hear, hear, one dose of that prat is enough for us. I don't know what I would do if Williams became our coach, as you can see I am a Swan Districts supporter over here but I used to follow all the Black and White teams before the AFL came into being. As such I also had a soft spot for the Port Adelaide team and initially thought of them as the mini-magpies when they first entered the AFL but Williams' behaviour cured that. I now hate them with a passion. Remember they were happy to lose Nick Stevens for nothing rather than let him come to us.

I guess I'm alone on this, but Mark Williams is probably my favourite coach in the AFL. Would love for him to coach the Pies post-MM.

Unless Malthouse delivers a premiership, next year should be his last year!

10 years will be a long time without any success!

Same here, Choco would be terrific for the Pies.

I think his contract expires at the end of this season..... perfect timing to snap him up.

Choco always stated he would love to coach Collingwood!

Choco's a Pie and he would be welcomed back with open arms once he leaves the teal abomination.:)

Mark Williams is a great coach, don't be silly.

I'd be happy with him.

totally agree...if MM was to retire or get the shaft sometime soon, i'd take choco in a heartbeat

Williams is probably one of the few coaches left these days that can completely fracture a club into several waring factions.
He is a master at it, as he did when he was Captain and as he has done at Port.

No thanks, we left all that behind in the 80's, ironically after he left
