I think the mobbenfuhrer medal should be done manually, it's unfair that wingers get priority and better players do not get votes. for example just because he's a mid, statsfanatic earned himself 3 votes from 11 or 12 possessions. when better players like timmy that game scored 22 possesions and 7 marks didn't earn himself 1 vote.

He was clearly more efficient and overall more effective. The Mobbenfuhrer Medal has and will always be done by the sim, just like the Brownlow will always be by the umpires.

I said this time last season that I was quite happy for anyone interested to do a Media MVP kind of thing as well as the Mobbenfuhrer even if they want to run a count at the end.

If manage to come top 5 in a very poor year, I'm happy with the voting :D.
And they even ripped me off, not giving a vote for my 30 possesions. But Ljp richly deserves his votes!

I may be interested in running a Media MVP or something along those lines next season.

If it was done manually i'd have a handful of them, I've had 35 possie 5 goal games go by without votes. But I know that and continued to play myself as a rover. Don't really care about the votes, I was more about being high up on the stat tables... Which aren't done anymore. :(

I can do it, do i have your permission doggies, or would you prefer to do it yourself or get somebody else do it.

I will not cheat or favour.
Would you rather run a SFAPA MVP?
Would just need each club to nominate 3 choices and then get each club to collectively vote 1-10 (the captains of each club can decide how this is done).

Yeah, I remember fighting it out with you in tackles and other stats a couple of times.

I'm the same, I know that you don't get any votes in the rover spots but like playing there.

I predicted Ljp would win because he plays wing. Simple as that

Guys, the sim calculates the votes based on effective possessions, clangers, tackles, kicks, marks and goals.

You could be a Matt Priddis and get 40 touches but if 37 of them go to the opposition, have you really had a good game? In contrast, you might get 15 touches, all of which hit your full forward square on the chest.

I like the MM because it is truely based on effective stats, not just the number of times you get the ball.

MVP would be great I reckon.

We should just try and investigate how the AFL runs theirs, and try and simulate it as best as possible.

As far as I know, I reckon at the end of the regular season, every single player should just fill out a small survey with all the award categories. Although I know we have some things like that now, we could dress it up and make it more official and such. :thumbsu:

Actually I think it's done this way...

Step 1: All players vote for their team mates and from this 3 players from each team get nominated.
Step 2: All AFL players vote 3-2-1 for any player (except their team mates... must vote for opposition players) and the total votes are counted to give a winner

I think the AFL MVP is done whereby club officials nominate three players and then the players vote. Would be a lot easier if club captain or someone nominated, and would save time. But I'm up for whatever :thumbsu:

I agree with what seems to be the common consensus with keeping the Mobben Medal and introducing a Player's Award. I reckon it would be good for the comp.

How about, each captain nominates 3.
If a game has a player who plays better then the 3 mean nothing.
each game means that 6 people are trying to get a vote.
I suggest we have 3 voters.
