Round 7
It's Round 7 and the competition is still as tight as ever. Have any of last week's results had any major impact on who will take out the predictor?

This game pretty much sums up the Bombers season so far. After Baghdad was ahead for so long and at each break, the Roys stayed with them and ran over the top of them to create an unassailable lead late in the fourth quarter for the Roys to now be the team on top and the Bombers to now have a 2 game losing streak. It wasn't all bad news for Baghdad however, with Pugsley getting away with Best-on-Ground honours with 19 disposals, 7 tackles, 1 Free and 1 goal. Even Sun Ra got amongst the votes with 18 disposals, 7 tackles, 2 Frees and 1 goal. The Roys do get someone of mention along with the win with Ed_Gein splitting the duo with 20 disposals, 1 mark, 7 tackles, 4 Frees and 1 goal 1.

1678929561714.png
East Side's inaccuracy in front of goal was their undoing in this game as Mount Buller took advantage of the muddy conditions and got their first win of the season on a day where only 19 goals were scored. Though they are still a game behind 12th, finally getting that win may be the kickstart for the Demon's season to get on track. Of the 19 goals scored, 5 were kicked by Greenery with 1 mark, 8 disposals, 3 tackles and 2 Frees also to his name. Tarkyn_24 also kept in touch with the leaders with 11 disposals, 5 tackles, 2 Frees and 1 goal 2 having him 1 vote off the overall lead. thewizardmelon was the only shining light for the Phoenix with a dominant display in the ruck with 13 hitouts, 21 disposals and 2 tackles.

1678929604732.png
The Furies were almost looking to be mounting a comeback at the last break after a goalless first quarter, but the Gumbies kept them out of arms reach and cruised to a 26-point win. This caused the 2 teams to almost swap places on the ladder in what has so far been a very even season where only a game separates 2nd and 9th. Despite only showing up for 1 quarter, the Furies did have someone take the 3 votes with Fridge getting 25 disposals, 9 tackles, 5 Frees and scoring 1 goal 2. The Gumbies took the remaining share of votes with Dory_77 (6 goals 3 from 9 kicks, 1 mark, 1 tackle, 1 Free) and StFly (4 goals 2 from 6 kicks, 2 tackles, 1 Free) being the reason why the Gumbies were so dominant in front of goal.

1678929767398.png
The game was threatening to be the close game of the week, with neither the Warriors or the Wonders getting much of a leg up in the first half of the match. However, Coney Island took advantage of the premiership quarter and built a lead that, while West Coast continued to be part of the contest, relatively stayed the same for the rest of the game. Helping with that was Tonga Bob who had 20 disposals, 12 tackles and 7 Frees as well as Mofra with 22 disposals, 9 tackles and 2 Frees. The midfield wasn't fully dominated by the Warrior duo, with Cubs2Lions having 27 disposals, 10 tackles and 6 Frees to keep him within reach of the overall lead.

1678939960393.png
The only team that the Demons were in reach of, the Swamprats weren't going to just let them catch-up. Las Vegas, on the other hand, would've liked to have stayed atop the ladder a little longer. The game was rather straightforward for what was a major upset, with the margin at each break only changing between 9 and 14 points. The Bears, despite the result, did have someone be the Performance of the Round. Millky95 with 28 disposals, 10 tackles, 6 Frees and 1 goal got the 3 votes ahead of Swamprat ruckman GremioPower (14 hitouts, 31 disposals, 7 tackles, 1 Free) and full-forward okeydoke7 (5 goals from 5 kicks and 1 tackle) to give Las Vegas fans something to cheer about.

1678929826998.png
A see-sawing battle from start to finish, the Old Boys really should've had this game wrapped up at various stages of the game. The Royals, however, stayed in touch of the contest and eventually got the winning goal with 88 seconds left on the clock. While it ended being the deciding factor in who got the 4 points, it would be other goal-scorers that got into the votes. Mrs Turbo with 16 disposals, 7 tackles, 5 Frees and 3 goals 2 was considered the reason why it took Gold City to hit the front, especially with GreyCrow (12 hitouts, 18 disposals, 7 tackles, 3 Frees) and nahnah (4 goals 2 from 6 kicks, 1 mark, 1 tackle) being the reasons the Royals were still in, and end up winning, the contest.

Nah I never get Mobbs votes.

Although temper expectations if you think a Mobbs Medal is going to get you an all-SFA spot. Am I right damicky and GWS Goose?
Amazingly the year I won the Mobbs wasn't even the most abhorrent of my all SFA snubs.

Would you believe one year I was 3rd in the Mobbs, 5th in the Beez, 3rd highest DT, 4th highest exie (or vice versa) and 9th in the rate the opposition thread.

SO top 10 in all metrics. Yet the commitee couldnt find a spot in the top 20 for me. Seems impossible doesnt it

Tell us how you really feel, Goosey.

Suspect at this point, it's gotta be someone's idea of a bit.

EDIT - Meaning the snub, not your reaction.

I've remained stoic and quiet about this previously, but I feel at some point I should address this miscarriage of justice.

Some would say silent even

Round 8
Round 8, and we almost have an entire team of players within reach of 1st place, but who is in the top spot?

1679463896528.png

With the two teams being compared to each other since the Old Boys came into the League, the Furies have yet to lose to Ophidian in 2 games. This game, however, had a bonus for the Furies, with it being a 71-point belting against some old faces. So with the contest pretty much over during the 2nd quarter, it was a bit of a surprise to see Fridge get the votes required to reach double-digits and the top of the leaderboard with 21 disposals, 8 tackles and 2 Frees. Wickzki got the 3 votes with 14 disposals, 1 mark, 8 tackles, 2 Frees and 2 goals, while Robertio backed them up with 29 disposals, 8 marks and 6 tackles in what would've been a big celebration at the Hippodrome.

1679463937407.png

Despite everything Coney Island threw at them, the Dragons continued their dominance over the Warriors. The Dragons were behind at Quarter-Time and were even kept goalless in the 4th, but kicking 7 goals to 2 in the 3rd quarter meant that the usual business the two sides have on the field stays the same for yet another game. DragoDelph has been named the best of the Dragons with 25 disposals, 5 tackles and 2 Frees, while Dinsdale gave the Warriors some highlights with 20 disposals, 5 tackles and 3 Frees. Hatchy1992 was deemed the better Full-Forward for the day, kicking 3 goals 3 from 6 kicks and 2 tackles in the rainy conditions.

1679463970876.png
After losing to the Demons and giving them their first win, the Phoenix made a statement against the top-of-the-table Roys. East Side was ready for the contest; the scores were tied with just 3 minutes remaining on the clock. Enter stage left Itsmyshow , who not only kicked the winning goal to keep the Phoenix within touching distance of the Top 8 but also got the 3 votes with 5 goals 1 in total from 6 kicks, 3 marks, 1 tackle and 1 Free. East Side also managed to sweep the votes despite the close contest with MP_ (19 disposals, 6 tackles, 2 Frees, 1 goal) and raskolnikov (3 disposals, 7 tackles, 2 Frees, 1 goal), keeping the Roys' best player, Zevon, away from making trouble.

1679464004216.png
Fresh from their first win, you would've thought the Demons would try to replicate the feat once they knew how to win. Instead, the Bears used Mount Buller to return to the top of the ladder while drowning the Demons in the rainy weather. The contest was close to Half-Time, but the Bears then decided to start trying and left Mount Buller in the soggy dust. cartwright still managed to get the 3 votes despite all that with 19 disposals, 7 tackles, 1 Free and 3 goals while a myriad of Las Vegas players fought it out for the remaining votes. My calculations have Cap (13 hitouts, 14 disposals, 1 tackle, 4 Frees, 1 goal) and Broken (6 kicks, 2 tackles, 1 Free, 2 goals 4) being the best but don't expect this when the actual votes come out.

1679464035316.png
After backing up their premiership success with four wins to start the season, I don't think anyone expected the three Bomber losses to proceed. However, they were fighting back for the win against the Royals; Baghdad came from too far back and ran out of time. Gold City now sits 2nd on percentage behind 1st while Baghdad needs a win to stay in the 8 but it wasn't all bad news for them. gab213 was Best-on-Ground for the Bombers, kicking 7 goals 3 from 10 kicks, 1 mark, 1 tackle and 1 Free. The usual suspects for the Royals were also on hand with GreyCrow (17 hit-outs, 22 disposals, 5 tackles, 1 Free, 1 goal) and CakeEater ( 25 disposals, 8 tackles, 3 Frees) helping their team across the line.

1679464122764.png
In the battle to see who would be left behind in such a close season, the Swamprats came out of the blocks, wanting to climb the ladder. But the Wonders made the most of the remaining 3 quarters, overpowering Sin City and winning by almost 8 goals. It was such a dominant win that one of the Wonders even got Performance of the Week. Frothies Mcveigh recorded 10 goals and 1 behind from 11 kicks, 3 marks, 1 tackle and 1 Free to put them in a good position in the Fred. The Swamprats Full-Foward also got in the votes with okeydoke7 kicking 4 goals 3 from 7 kicks, 4 tackles and 1 Free, with Sin City ruckman GremioPower rounding it out with 15 hit-outs, 21 disposals, 5 tackles and 3 Frees.

Early. Cripps like.

Round 9
It's now halfway through the season, and we have a new leader! However, will they win?

1680140667089.png
Close contest for the first quarter; the accuracy of the Roys hid the fact that the Furies completely controlled the scoreboard after the first break. The Furies slowly grew their lead for the rest of the game, with the Roys simply focusing on kicking the ball through the uprights. The Furies' best player for the day, omgfridge , has also become the new leader for the Mobbs predictor off his 13 disposals and 10 tackle performance. tigs2010 also has jumped into a podium spot with his own 22 disposals, 8 tackles and 3 Frees game. Away from the main show, ShaunDuggan took the last vote for the Furies getting 4 goals 3 off 7 kicks, 1 mark, 1 handball, 2 tackles and 1 Free.

1680142157243.png
In another close contest that was a beating, the Dragons waited until after half-time to drag East Side through the muddy conditions. The Phoenix was just in front at the main break but only scored 1 goal 5 for the entire second half while the Dragons steamrolled them everywhere, including the votes. Hatchy1992 was the main steamroller, kicking 6 goals 2 from 8 kicks and 1 Free. Meanwhile, DragoDelph got into the Top 3 on the Mobbs Predictor leaderboard with 19 disposals, 4 tackles, 1 Free and kicking 1 goal 2. The last Dragon in the votes is Pie 4 Life, who beat MP_ to the last vote with 13 disposals, 6 tackles and 1 Free.

1680142225534.png
We've already had one game where the Demons lost after kicking the first 7 goals; now we have Mount Buller losing after being 7 goals ahead at Half-Time. The Gumbies kicking 8 goals to the Demons 1 in the last quarter also helped with that. However, Mount Buller did have one thing go right for them, with Greenery getting the title of Performance of the Round. Greenery did a lot of the damage control on the scoreboard, kicking 6 goals 3 from 10 kicks, 2 handballs, 6 tackles and 2 Frees. The Gumbies' returning player Mop made a remarkable comeback to the game (18 disposals, 3 marks, 2 tackles, 4 Frees and 3 goals 3) while being supported by DenieD (14 disposals, 6 tackles, 3 Frees, 2 goals) in what might be the Gumbies best comeback in seasons.

1680142281550.png
The Bombers returned to the winner's circle by keeping the Warriors to another game where Coney Island didn't show up for the first quarter. While the Warriors almost got within single digits of the lead, Baghdad returned to putting the accelerator down after the Main Break to cruise to victory. norway blue got the 3 votes for his 23 disposals, 11 tackles, 2 Frees and 1 goal 1 over the Bombers' Full-Forward gab213, who scored 5 goals 2 from 7 kicks, 4 marks, 8 handballs and Frees. The Coney Island Full-Forward, The Filth Wizard, got on the board, scoring their own 5 goals 1 from 6 kicks, 1 Mark and 1 Free.

1680142351502.png
At this point, 11 teams are still within a win of the top of the table. One of those teams isn't the Swamprats, who keep joining the Demons at the wrong end of the ladder. This week, Sin City let the Old Boys get to a 20-point margin which never waivered for the rest of the game. According to the votes, however, the Swamprats had better individual games than Ophidian. ant555 was the best from the losing side with their 16 disposals, 9 tackles, 3 Frees and 1 goal 1 being deemed better than Elton Johns Wig's 10 hit-outs, 30 disposals, 2 Frees and 4 goals 1. Power Raid's 25 disposals, 5 tackles, 2 Frees and 2 goals rounded out the votes despite the overall result.

1680142389971.png
Now for the one game that wasn't one-sided and see-sawed for most of the match. The Wonders would eventually get away from the Bears before the final siren. However, considering that the margin barely ever reached double-digits for a large swath of the game, that does seem like an achievement in this context. West Coast veteran Grand Uncle Horace was the best of the Wonders group with 17 disposals, 7 tackles and 4 Frees, while dogs105 was his deputy with 16 disposals, 3 marks, 1 tackle, 1 Free and 3 goals. Las Vegas did get 1 person in the votes for their troubles, with Broken getting 4 goals 1 from 5 kicks and 2 Frees.

Round 10
Round 10, more players are reaching double-digits, more people getting within touching distance of the lead.

1680757485718.png
The Wonders obliterated the Bombers, even after winning the 3rd quarter. In the three quarters that West Coast had complete control of the game, they tripled the Baghdad score and only let 2 Bombers kick multiple goals. Of the Wonders players, Grand Uncle Horace got Performance of the Week with his output of 28 disposals, 14 tackles, 3 Frees and 3 goals. GUH was starting it and finishing it with teammates Frothies Mcveigh (11 goals 2 from 13 kicks, 1 tackle) and damicky (18 hit-outs, 34 disposals, 4 tackles, 1 Free, 2 goals 1), helping it be a day to remember for the West Coast faithful and a day of figuring out what went wrong for Pugsley and the Bombers.

1680757534145.png
The Furies are now one of the three teams ahead of the pack with their massive comeback over the Swamprats, who are still struggling to find where to get regular wins. Ahead by almost five goals a minute in the final quarter, Sin City also didn't score a single point for the last 17 minutes as the Furies clawed away at the margin and might a tight contest before NaturalDisaster finally kicked the game-sealing goal. His 13 hit-outs, 26 disposals, 3 tackles, 2 Frees and 3 goals for the game were only topped by teammate JyeDye who got 24 disposals, 9 tackles, 4 Frees and 1 goal and opponent ant555's 33 disposals, 8 tackles and 3 Frees.

1680757578209.png
The Warriors and the Gumbies played out a straightforward game, with Coney Island hitting the lead during the 2nd quarter and never looking like relinquishing it despite the 13-point final margin. The 2nd quarter pretty much set up the Warriors' win with Tonga Bob getting the 3 votes with his 27 disposals, 9 tackles, 3 Frees and scoring 1 goal 1. Gumbies ruckman Falconista also got on the board with 17 hit-outs, 19 disposals, 6 tackles and 2 Frees, with spudmaster rounding out the 3 with 34 disposals, 10 marks, 2 tackles, 1 Free and 2 goals. It now sees both teams on five wins alongside five other teams, with the end of the Home and Away season fast approaching.

1680757618325.png
The Phoenix are still trying to play catch-up thanks to their 4-point penalty, and beating the Bears sees them outside the 8, thanks only to the punishment. In a high-scoring game, East Side won by over five goals despite having two fewer scoring shots, a prime example of why having good accuracy in front of the goal is just as crucial as having forward dominance. One player that cannot be blamed for the Las Vegas woes was Broken who single-handedly kept the Bears in it with 10 goals 3 from 13 kicks, 1 mark, 3 tackles and 2 Frees. The Phoenix stayed in front with The Blue Weirdo (25 disposals, 12 marks, 4 tackles, 2 Frees, 5 goals 2) and Milera2Betts (23 disposals, 8 tackles, 2 Frees, 1 goal), helping East Side stay in touch of the pack.

1680757663301.png
The Dragons hit the front right from the get-go and never let the Old Boys get any whiff of the lead. That sees the Dragons ahead of the pack and Ophidian a game behind. Still plenty of time in the season, but you can't be caught slacking off now. The central part of the Dragons' coasting win was DragoDelph who hits the top of the Mobbs Predictor with his 21 disposals, 10 tackles, 2 Frees and 3 goals. The Old Boys make up the rest of the votes, with both Elton Johns Wig (17 hit-outs, 22 disposals, 4 tackles, 1 Free, 1 goal) and Mrs Turbo (14 disposals, 6 tackles, 2 Frees, 1 goal) providing some highlights for those behind the Ophidian goals.

At least this time, the Demons gave up the lead during the 2nd quarter instead of giving their supporters hope for the entire game. The Royals continue having a presence in the Top 4 thanks to the win, while Mount Buller is still only on one win, even with Gold City only scoring 4 points in the last quarter. The Demons, despite their lack of wins, have been managing to get high votes with both cartwright (17 disposals, 13 tackles, 5 Frees, 1 goal) and Tarkyn_24 (21 disposals, 8 tackles, 3 Frees, 1 goal 1) within sight of being on top the Mobbs Predictor. Also near the top is Cadsky, who got the last vote with 22 disposals, 8 tackles, 3 Frees and 1 goal.

Great job FootyGuy13

Any chance of a leaderboard?
I've been waiting for a clear Top 6 so that I can do a full set of tags. Unfortunately, I have yet to have a week where 6th wasn't tied with 7th. Fortunately, no one has asked about it. Until now. So stuff 'em, Top 5 it is!

DragoDelph omgfridge are, in fact, winning with 13 votes each. Frothies Mcveigh Tarkyn_24 and tigs2010 are the only ones who could jump over them with a BOG game this week. They've also all had a bye. I'm not sure what other factoids you're looking for. So have this.

Yep, that's the Round 10 Leader-Board. Anyone could technically win. Who knows what will happen.
