Overall it was a very good show. Hardy was born for roles like this. Just let down by some poor writing around Conrad and Maeve. The final scene in the prison was very silly.

I haven't seen firm plans for a season 2 but it seems like the viewing figures have been good.
 
How did Jan stab him? It couldn’t have been an accident because she had the knife in her right hand in a forward chopping position, so she either turned it around in her right to a backward position or used her left hand.

It was fun but all very predictable. I mean, did anyone actually for one second believe that Ritchie wasn’t being played by the lawyer?

Anyway, I did enjoy the season just think it could have been great.
 
I liked the way misdirection was key to watching this

I thought for a moment Kevin might turn the gun on himself

I thought Richie would shoot the lawyer

He should have shot the lawyer.

He got totally played and up until that point had been a much more formidable opponent.

Yeah his arrogance let him down. I know he respected Harry and ignored Kevin but he should have at least thought they might come at him
 
Well I really enjoyed it, season 2 coming I assume? A good sign for me was just how quickly that episode went.. Not sure what happens with Conrad and Maeve going forward.. Assume Eddie is the wild card or does the next season just focus on Harry Vs Kat?
 
I'd be happy for Conrad and Maeve to stay locked up next season, for the most part.

Be good to see more about the operations side of things. We know Conrad is a massive king pin drug lord but we never see any of the day to day workings of it.

For those online saying Jan is annoying, could you imagine being in that situation?
 
That felt awfully like a season that wrapped up not knowing whether there'd be a season two or not (minus the McAllister storyline).

Really enjoyed the show overall, think it just needs to be watched knowing it's not a super high quality in terms of writing etc.

If there is a season 2, I think they'd be better served keeping Conrad in prison.

Richie was a great character and well acted. I would have liked a possibility that he survives. His death renders the interesting Tattersalls character a bit redundant.

I'm assuming Harry recovers from the knife in his chest and that Alice has met a grizzly end.

If they don’t show the death it very often means that they’re not dead.

That would make absolutely no sense.

The corrupt cop already wiped out the initial two investigators and made a clear reference to her being the 'one too many' to have realised what was going on.

That would be horrendously bad writing if they were to bring her back.

This is the same show that has Conrad being cheered by every inmate in the jail like he's just won the World Cup?

That makes more sense to me. He's the head of one of the biggest criminal enterprises in London, it would make sense there'd be some notoriety.

Would make more sense if someone was trying to off him of course.

Just going to drop in a rec for Dept Q. It's a different kind of show but I think if you like Mobland you might like it.
 
So, is Kat, CIA, DEA, Medellin Cartel, Mafia, or ?????????
 
I think another season has Harry and Jaime working on their deal, and working against Kat, with twists obviously. Kevin will need to have a meaty plot, otherwise his role becomes supporting and unnecessary.
I thought the plan was to kill Conrad once he was behind bars. The cop I think might jump to Conrad's side if Conrad is be a player again. The ending was damn near an old Hollywood musical finale, cringey and took away minutes from better plot thread conclusions. Brosnan and Mirren are elite actors. I can see them only doing some minor cameo next season.
Eddie is a wildcard, as a character and potential future plotlines. Hard to predict what trajectory his role will take. I look to some of Puzo's plots for similarities with young gangsters.
The final wrapping up of threads felt a bit rushed at places, like they didn't have the time to properly play them out, or got editted out.
IMHO a very watchable series mostly, but let down by less cohesion in the writing and directing.
 
The difference from being great to excellent was that Guy Ritchie didn’t direct the whole series. The first episodes he did launched this show in a ball of flame that slowly burnt down back to just another crime show.
 
I don’t know what the Fire refers to. But thinking it’s drugs. And I’m ok with that.

Really enjoyed the show. Loved it. All the characters were great. Brendon was a weak link but ok.

Kat Mac. Hmmmm. I thought she was The PM 😂. But obv not. Shadowy character.

Corrupt cop was HYDRA so he’s evil as.

Jamie is always a drug lord as evidenced by running a cartel in Cuba during bad boys 2.
