I'm a big fan of Maric. Would love to see him in Navy Blue next year. :thumbsu:
HBF, what chance the Eagles would look out for Maric with their first rounder? Will he slide that far?

We've been screaming out for a genuine small forward since Phil Matera retired.

I suspect that Maric will still be available at that stage, however, it's hard to tell with him. He pretty much a specialist FP, that has had stints in the midfield. Very hard to know where he will be drafted. Exceptional talent though.

Sounds perfect....

Midfielders we're pretty right for. :D

Thanks :)

Like to know what people thoughts are on a few boys from around my area.

Ryan Normington Skillfull player. Obviously alot of heard of him, skinny but versitile, Knows where to find it. Good endurance, can play forward, midfeild and half back?. Whats his chances?
Ash Hockey Super Skills. Performed decently at the championships from reports, Package player, Smart brain, well built, Hard Runner, Midfeilder, Half back. One of the most skillful players in the TAC. played Vic C as a bottom age. His Chances?
Tyson Warnett Slow start to the year but now impressed last 5 weeks, been told was used off the bench maybe because a few injuries now in there starting mid? knows where to find it, good burst of pace, Hard Runner, well built, Half back, Mid, Half Forward. His Chances?
Matt Hebbard 19yr old, Super strong down back, Great mark, Well Built, Great Size in height Loves a run and bounce of half back, Really stepped up half way though last year and this year. Half Back, Half Forward? His Chances?

im pretty sure carlton melbourne and richmond will get a fair chunk of that top 20 if all falls their way

if carlton dont win another game they get pick 1
if melb dont win more than 2 more they get a priority pick
if rich dont finish with more than 16pts they get a priortity but after round 1

so if carl doesnt win anymore they get pick 1 -pick 3 or 4 -pick 21 or 22
melb would get pick 3 or 4 - pick 19 priority and - pick 21 or 22
the tiges would get pick 2 - pick 18 priority - pick 20

if carl does win a game and melb wins 2 then
rich gets pick 1 - pick 17 and - pick 18
carl gets pick 2 or 3 then - pick 19 or 20
melb gets pick 2 or 3 then - 19 or 20

teams that dont win more than 4 games get the priority after round 1
so tiges would get #1 then after round 1 they get priority #17 then round 2 starts so they get #18

if a team has 2 bad years like carlton may
last year they got their priority at #17
because they have had 2 years with 4 wins or less they get to take pick #1 as their priority this year
if they win or draw 1 more game they dont get to take it

So it could end up:
1. Carlton
2. Richmond
3. Carlton
4. Melborne
18. Richmond
19. Melbourne
20. Richmond
21. Melbourne
22. Carlton

thats a hell of a lot better than top 6 picks going to those teams

if those 3 teams dont win their quota then it would be something like that
best case scenario for the other teams is carl win 1 more
melb win 2 more
and tiges 3 more

hope carlton do win one...

they have had tooooooo much of the top drafts over the last few years..... i am not saying the picked the best but they have had all the good picks... so i dont want them getting it again

Smokeys that could go:

Sandilands(Why Not)

Notte (Needs time but if puts on weight could go with anyone)

Jackey (Skills Galore)

Sanfillipo (Dont no his actual age)

Ellard (Very skilled foward pocket rate him over little guys that get drafted like Sampi and Rodan)

Embley (Didnt make state side but anything can happen with clubs looking for backmen)

<If Rance is still around at pick 18 why wouldnt carlton pick him up earlier they have no backline at the moment and this being touted as a weak draft, why would they risk picking up somone like masten or grimes when theve already got Murphy and Gibbs who could turn into superstars, just a thought>

Sanfillipo should not go. There are many better players in the school footballers from Caulfield Grammar such as Sundberg and Penburthy, also from Hailebury such as Martin and from Scotch in Hill

I would have thought that Carlton has inversted fairly highly in there back line in the last 3 drafts taking Harlett, Bower and Austin with top 30 picks

If not taken by Collingwood in the F/S it would be rookie listed at the most.

Wow, rookie listed a most? This upcoming draft shall be interesting considering the Herald Sun reporting another recruiting manager thought him to be a top 20 prospect whilst many others have not rated him yet. Ohh well, the more he falls the better i guess, if the pies are keen on him.

So, apart from this assumption, do you actually know the answer? I am not even sure how many games he would have had to play, and doubt Cyril actually cracked the 100 game mark to be honest...

That said, if he is f/s eligible it would be for Fremantle, and not Richmond (and any of Maurice's sons might be in a similar boat to be truthful!).

Cyril was a little on the podgy side I remember but I was only young when Maurice was around the bulldogs so I may be remembering incorrectly

Yep Ellard is a quality small forward if anyone wants one of those.

Can i ask is there a clear top3, top 5, top 6?

last year gibbs was a clear front runner with hansen, gumbelton and Leunberger close behind (and also all easily being able to go number 1). selwood and boak followed.

how does it shape up now. is kruezer better then the others as gibbs was to hansen, gumbelton and leunberger?

Why?
As I have already written, he just seems to go throught the motions out on the field, and lacks any real intensity.

doesnt have enough tricks not bad overhead but no leap runs straight and cant get through traffic doesnt use the ball well enough. Got pace and maybe a backman at best.it will be interesting if he goes. He's played and beaten some good players the likes of hawkins and dawesso that might help.

sanfillipo is fairly overated IMO Not enough upside to him

Is scott selwood another in and under player like joel? or more outsideish running back like troy and adam?

Also who are the top ruckman and inside mids in the draft?

More like Adam and Troy.
