valient effort but its too hard to predict. im pretty sure livingston has re-signed. the ealges and dockers wont be using the PSD, and it alos looks like the doggies wont either thanks to the re-signing of bowden. i'd say only 5-6 clubs will participate with the tigers having 2 picks.
Are you sure the eagles wouldn't pick up Brad Smith from Subi if he nominates for the PSD? Or do you think he would go in the ND.

By the way when is the cut off for nominations for both drafts and are they listed anywhere?

I'd rather Collingwood make a bit for Corrie. Caracella is now a cerainty to be in PSD. It would depend what the price is. Collingwood have the third 'live' pick and the most room in salary cap of the 3 clubs. Surely if there's enough cake to go around, the clubs will talk about what player suits them the most. If not, Collingwood ought to tell who ever they want to name a price too high for the others and front-load it. Eg, $400,000 for year 1, $100,00 for year 2. That means that regardless of year two, the clubs has to have $400,000 in the cap for year 1.

Caracella yet may go in the mational draft. He is hoping that Brisbane will delist him to give him the opportuntity to find a new club in the national draft rather than the preseason

I heard that too but it surprises me because I was under the impression that you can't name your price in National Draft unlike the PSD. I thought that was the whole reason he was leaving Brisbane. Maybe he is just window-dressing his attempt to come home to Melbourne and it's not about the money.

They are saying that now that the reason why he is refusing Brisbane's offer is because he watns to come home. That seems logical as a few weeks ago it all his contract at Brisbane needed was to be signed and there was no money problems at that stage, and the last few weeks he has been back in Melbourne so maybe he has got home sick

dude Corrie has already re-signed and wasnt lured by the money like caracella is at the moment, and also i dont even think Corrie was out of contract this year.

Also It hasnt been confirmed that Caracella has been officially delisted by the Lions. and i would prefer the lions keeping younger players instead of him.

I think there'll be at least one surprise in this group. There always tends to be one or two that just fail to come to terms with their club.

GM has already stated on SEN Monday 8th that Richmond is not interested in McGough, "Might be suited somewhere else. We are interested in a tall defence player and a ruckman." Trent Knobel is my hunch for ruck and looking at Graham for our back line for one maybe two years.

Yeah, Collingwood traded Clinton King to Richmond for McKee.
Picks 3 and 7 were also exchanged in the same deal.
i.e. Aaron Fiora and Danny Roach.
Yet another Richmond/Collingwood trade where both ended up losers.....

1. All delisted/out of contract players do not get selected in the national draft.

2. Notting, Dew, Ramanauskas, Brooks, Schwarze, Hadley, McIntosh, Keating, Richards, Bizzell, Schauble, Hyde, Mooney, Riccardi, Kouloriotis, Williams, Newman all re-sign with the current club which I think is most likely to be the case.

3. All teams have at least one selection.

The Picks:

1. Richmond - Mark McGough (Collingwood)
Richmond picks the most talented young player available. I also believe that Wallace rates him as a footballer.
2. Hawthorn - David Spriggs (Geelong)
I think Hawthorn would like more pace in their midfield so they select the former cat with pick 2.
3. Western Bulldogs - Luke Livingston (Carlton)
The doggies lack some talls in defence, so maybe Rodney Eade can turn around the career of Livingston who was previous a high first round pick. He's still young so there's still time to make the grade.
4. Collingwood - Blake Caracella (Brisbane Lions)
With Richmond, Hawthorn and Western Bulldogs in rebuilding mode it doesn't make sense for them chase a high priced player who turns 28 in 2005. Collingwood gladly selects Caracella whom the Lions cannot keep for financial reasons.
5. Adelaide - Trent Knobel (St. Kilda)
Given it is likely to be Matthew Clarke's final season, Knobel could be a good addition to Adelaide ruck stocks for the future.
6. Carlton - Mark Porter (Kangaroos)
Re-acquiring Porter will give the Blues a reliable veteran in the ruck that they haven't had since he left the club a few seasons ago.
7. Kangaroos - Mark Stevens (Adelaide)
A risky pick given he has been very injury prone lately, Stevens re-joins the Kangaroos to assist Drew Petrie across the half forward line.
8. Fremantle - WAFL Player
Freo would probably select a young Western Australian who was suprising over looked in the national draft.
9. West Coast - WAFL Player
See Fremantle comments but subsitute Freo with West Coast
10. Melbourne - Kayne Pettifer (Richmond)
With the retirement of Peter Vardy and a change of scenery, Pettifer has a chance to stake a claim at becoming a regular AFL footballer. Melbourne seems like a good fit.
11. Essendon - Justin Blumfield (Richmond)
Essendon welcome back an old favourite son and I'm sure Blumfield can return to form as Sheedy has a knack of recycling and reinventing players who seem to be at the crossroads.
12. Sydney - James Podsiadly (Werribee)
Podsiadly had a good year in the VFL and is training in Sydney prior to the draft so they are interested in the former Collingwood rookie list player. Could be a good choice as a depth key forward or defender.
13. Geelong - Anthony Franchina (Carlton)
A suprising choice since Franchina didn't play at all last season but Geelong could use a tagger to release Cameron Ling into a more attacking midfield role were he can be more damaging.
14. St. Kilda - Cain Ackland (Port Adelaide)
After losing Knobel, St.Kilda select Ackland who is a similar sort of player to help Blake in the ruck.
15. Brisbane Lions - QAFL Player
I don't think Brisbane will make a selection but if they do they'll select a young Queenslander.
16. Port Adelaide - SANFL Player
See Brisbane comments but subsitute Brisbane with Port Adelaide and Queenslander with South Australian.
17. Richmond - Steve McKee (Collingwood)
Given the tigers delisted about eight players I'm pretty sure they'll make another selection. I think they'll be looking for another tall and McKee would be a handy backup player for Tigers. They could draft Mark Graham and Kris Barlow instead but the fact that they would only have a maximum of two season left means that they'll likely favour the younger McKee.

there won't be anything like that many picks.
Mark Stevens is not in contract dispute he is in body dispute. if he can play, we want him.

I don't think Sydney will use their pick 12 in the PSD. They only have three picks in the National Draft (31, 45 and 57). I would say they are likely to use all of these, two of which would go on KPPs. They have a bunch of talls training with them the week before the draft and I'd think they would go for a mature, ready-to-go KPP. As they have already promoted the rookie, Bevan, they only have four spots on their list with the addition of Jolly as well. The 12th pick in the PSD is rather low anyway and they will probably take their chance with their picks in next week's draft.
