A brief one off from me to honour our retired mod jathanas at the end of his tour of duty. A tour which probably felt like a mix between Starship Troopers and One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest on many occasions, his huge heart and steady hand helped me on so many occasions. I am alive today part through dumb luck and part because people like him gave a s**t.

While it is disappointing to see you go mate on a personal level, on the other hand at least the mod team are now free of people with strange pineapple hatred, oddly unmanly calf structures, or blatant pro-pony biases (any mods who still qualify, please report to the Josh Schache

Love me a good red scare campaign, just a shame there hasn't been a decent one since Menzies was PM.

In retirement will I stop trying to fix people who choose to eat tropical fruit on their pizza? No. Luckily, my replacement in the mod team will continue to fight the good fight on that front.

Well, they are Collingwood lite so no surprises they are replicating us - a bit reminiscent of our Buckley years.

IMO our worst ones were

• Dayne Beams thread (when he went to Brisbane)
• Malthouse v Buckley threads. Thank friggen my favourite deity that we’ve finally stopped banging on about it. It even persisted after Mick got sacked from Carlton and they won the wooden spoon in his “I can’t see how we lose a game of football” year.
