Yep, diversity of opinion is a great thing. Except in regards to politics, I like what GJ, belnakor and RH bring to this forum.

Although peoples opinions might rub others up the wrong way, they are only opinions and need to be argued on their merits. It would be pretty boring reading this forum if everyone sang from the same song sheet.

Are you referring to Memories, GentlemanJeff etc? Because if you are that is mighty kind of you sticking up for the guy's you normally attack instead of respond to.
And I can assure you after much discussion any punishment handed out to these guy's has been warranted and they have adjusted their actions.

The general gist of this thread (Correct me if I am wrong) has been that most people are at least O.K with the moderating

YOU could very well be wrong about my reasons, I won't say "you all" because I don't think everyone has questioned my motives the way you and a few others have, but short of taking a lie detector there is no real way to prove my sincerity is there.

I don't get how saying "no one who happy with the status quo suggests change" apply's to me though. You seem to be confusing my suggestion of having an election with the suggestion to change moderators.

An election by definition provides gives people the chance to re-affirm as much as gives them the chance to enact change. Surely you can see howa re-affirmation would have its benefits.

I am happy with you two, and the mod job you both do. However, if you could hand out infractions to Rip for his endless optimism it would be appreciated.

Well if true, he's been caught lying or misrepresenting the truth at best. If it's the latter, it's this kind of attention to detail he lacks yet he is never wrong going by his strong language whenever he is discussing the "facts".

I never suggested "displacing" the mods.

I don't think really think it is necessary, but if you feel the need to retrace our little disagreement I should clarify that you actually made the initial assertion!

You asserted that I must want to get rid of the current mods. You backed that up by reasoning that "no one would suggest an election if they didn't like the status quo". I pointed out that this is flawed reasoning, due the fact that an election provides and opportunity to both re-affirm (note the bold italics again) as well as replace, the incumbents. You don't know which choice I would have made.

If you think I'm liar you can push that angle, there's not much I can say to change your mind, but don't try to convince people with flawed logic. It's easy to do, but you won't fool anyone worth fooling.
