I actually though the mark he took against Collingwood at Vic Park was better.
It's up there. He took a couple against the Bears in 1993 too which were alright. I'm pretty sure he had 10, 4, 2, 1 in the 1993 MOTY. My other favourite is one he took against Richmond in 1997 when we thumped them by 137 points

Add the Fitzroy one to that list as well, when he was between Lynch and Mark Zinotti

Is that why Modra was only selected as AA twice compared to Tredreas 4? Is that why Tredrea has won a premiership and Modra hasn't? Is that why the crows turfed this so called club champion to Freo?
Meh, let these kids have a bitch-whinge-fest. To me they are both great players.

Champions! None of the <><>< BS.

Modra was a special player, his average of 3.56 shows he had enough to stick with the Locketts, Abletts, Dunstalls & Kernahans. He started playing at 23 and ended up with 588 goals in 165 games. Quite possibly the unluckiest player ever, to do his knee in the PF in the year he won the Coleman and was named All Australian.

One of my favorite players to watch ever, and that was before he came to Freo. You knew when you sat down to watch Adelaide and later Freo that the man was going to do something special, whether it was a 10 goal effort, 2 or 3 spectacular marks or a goal you didnt believe even though you witnessed it with you own eyes.

Has anyone got his mark in the goal square against the Roo's (in 97 i think)???

129 goals in a season and still didnt win the Coleman, what happened to the "REAL" Full Forwards.

Oh yeah Tredrea was a Gun too..

What you are forgetting is that when Modra was playing there also was Dunstall, Ablett, Lockett, Carey. He played in an era with arguably four of the greatest forwards ever. Making the AA side as a forward back then is a totally different prospect to today the quality of forward line players isnt there IMO possibly that has to do with how defences play now, but the forwards of today dont seem to match up at all to those forwards in the 90s.

Modra got shipped off because he got jiggy with a certain someone's daughter and had a bad attitude so blight got rid of him, I never agreed with it. He should have stayed at Adelaide and retired at Adelaide.

Guilty as charged

Well Modra did play FF. I'm sure he would trade those two Coleman's in for a premiership medallion.
He would have had one maybe two if he didnt do his knee in the 97 prelim final. Just like Primus and Francou missed out through unfortunate injuries.

But if Modra hadn't have gone down in '97, Shane Ellen wouldn't have kicked 5 and been one of the vital componants to a great win. It's dangerous to flirt with history like that. No doubt Modra > Ellen, but Mod's could have had a shyte match and who knows what could have happened from there?

I'm not disagreeing what your saying but if your going to sit back and ohh and ahh over Modras achievements you cant turn around and poo poo Tredrea and his achievements, bay 13 or no bay 13. Not singling you out relapse just the Adelaide supporters in general.

That was in 1993, I have it on vhs somewhere still. Was a great game also goal for goal shootout and modra ended up kicking 10 and the crows came from behind to win.

Living in Adelaide it was pretty hard to miss Modra mania even if, like me, you weren't watching most of the Crows games. He was definitely a crowd pleaser with his spectacular marking and was a very good shot for goal. Looking through his record he had one quite outstanding season in 1993 and a number of other good seasons.

It's not really legitimate to compare him with Tredrea as Warren has spent a lot of time at centre half forward while Modra was a pure full forward. Despite that it's not inconceivable that Wazza will wind up with more goals than Modra.

Port Power supporters living in hypothetical land again. Check out the poll results. The overwhelming majority believe that Modra is many times the player that your hated captain is.

Modra = Coleman Medalist. Tredrea = Tool hated by his teammates. Truth hurts, doesn't it?
