MOH: Rising Sun

[Basic]

Just finished playing it after about 4 hours. Not a bad game.
It doesn't have much else the other MOH games didn't apart from upgraded effects a co-op mode and multiplayer bots.
The attack on Pearl Harbour wasn't as dramatic as the Normandy landing from Frontline but it was pretty good in it's own way.
Anyone else played it yet?

I've had a quick bash (also bought PES 3 and NBA Live 2004). I've done the first 2-3 levels, you have to love the sounds the japs make

Co-op is also pretty good.

SO its about the Japs?

Heard nothing about it thinking of getting it on ps2, whats gameplay like?

It's good. Last night I played around about 6 missions and it wasn't as easy as Frontline was. The graphics have been updated a little and there's a few new effects (when you first get to the deck at Pearl Harbour your character starts spinning out)
There is some new guns as well but it seems like they have changed the damage of the Springfield '03 because 1 head shot doesn't usually kill which is a little sad I thought.
The sounds are great as well and even the rumble effects are worth noting.
Something I did pick up is there's no blood effects. I'm sure in Frontline I remember if you shot a guy there would be a little blood spray but not anymore.
Another thing I found annoying was the Jap soldiers. You could be 200 yards away shooting at them and they'll just charge you and start stabbing and hitting you. It kills you very fast but sure does keep you on your toes

Don't know how well it'll sell in Japan seeing as it's been released there.

Japanese are supposedly ashamed of their past. Maybe it's because they lost though.
I don't think it would sell well anyway since Japan's games industry is so different from ours. They seem to be into more out there games than a FPS based on real events.

It's funny you should say that because in a big store in London they had it loaded up for people to play & the dude who was playing was Japanese, it brought a little grin to my face & my irony antenna was definitely twitching as I saw him happily topping as many Japs as he could.

Apparently loads of people there aren't even aware of what they got up to in WWII, it's all just swept under the carpet.

Unlike Germany where they teach the full horrors of their Nazi past in Japanese schools they don't go into it too much.My brother's girlfriend is Japanese (as was his previous one) & she wasn't taught anything about the treatment of POWs or any of the atrocities in China & Korea.

Havent played Rising Sun just yet, but I will. Hired out Hunter:The Reckoning - Redeemer and am currently killing lots of supernatural zombie type things. Great fun and even better with a couple of mates but not something I would buy.
