Josh McGinty was hailed as the next Aussie fast bowler at 16 and he's really kicked on!

Same could be said for Craig Howard, the next Shane Warne they said!!! Played for the Vics at State level, developed a bad case of the yippes, never to be seen again.

Its great that we have a fast bowler coming through the ranks but lets not start whacking ourselves over him yet!!!

i've never seen young Moises bowl, but have heard great things about him.

Anyone whos opening the bowling in first grade (especially St George) at 16 has serious talent.

However, without trying to be a wet blanket we need to be serious here. You can not really tell anything much about a quickie until they are at least 18, usually a bit later.

Quick bowling is one of the most physically gruelling specialities in any team sport.

Bowling so quick at such a young age is all well and good, but how does a growing body handle that is another matter......

For quickies who have talent and are starting to break through you wanna look at Scott Brant, Shaun Tait and a bit younger is Aaron Bird.

Moises has the talent these guys have, but we won't know how far he will go until at least 2 more years.

Jesus, some of the greatest of all time comes from St George, so this young fella ain't doing so bad.

Yeah, I guess the talent's there, but if he's bowling at 140 kph already at the age of 16, where the body still hasn't matured, he can be highly suspectable to injuries, we can only hope injuries wouldn't affect his development.

Remember that one of the Windies bowlers (Jermaine Lawson I believe...I'm not sure though) is only about 20 years old and can bowl over 150kmh.....it hasn't helped him yet though.

Doesn't mean I don't think this guy could be someone special...140 at 16 is bloody quick...needs to concentrate on line and length though as well as pace....then he could be a world beater.

It is a bit dangerous saying this at such a young age though....dont want to jinx him.

I guess if you're reported for throwing it definitely wouldn't help you

the biggest problem for guys who just wanna bowl out and out quick now is that it no longer works the way it used to.

before there were no helmets, gloves and pads which were about the equivalent of the daily newspaper, no thigh pads, etc,. etc,.

now days, you can't use pace to intimidate batsmen like you used to.

And young kids get sucked into this. They bowl super quick at a young age, and the youth players they're up against can't play a bowler that quick.

but there is a limit to how fast someone can bowl, and each guy will get to a level where his pace can be played comfortably.

therefore they need to be able to concentrate on moving the ball, bowling tight consistent lines, and getting a bit of zip and bounce of the deck. the latter is helped by more pace, but not always.

unfortunately for Brett Lee he is finding this to be very true.

Not saying this is the case for Moises because i've heard he can swing the ball and is quite accurate, but i just mean in general this is the problem with youngsters who get hyped to the ****ter when they are young just cause they bowl quick.

That's exactly the case, batsmen are treated far too well.

The game desperately need the next great fast bowler right now, just like the game desperately needed a great spinner in the 80s, and Warne appeared and changed the game.

How good is his name though?

Would be nice to have some sort of ethnicity added to the Australian team in the future.

Be good to see some nice long Greek, unpronounsable Latino and short Asian names.

I remembered this post as I watched him on the news tonight. I dare say there's a few more google related articles than what I found last year.

Well spotted Phat.
