There are parts of Gus's game that seem to suite the inside mid
He is on the bottom of the pack
He is actually a decent decision maker

Has no engine
Too small
Is alergic to leather CANNOT FIND IT EVER!!

angus monfries does not deserve to be in the same sentence as luke ball when talking about courage or football ability

Whats wrong with Angue Monfries?
hey im sure people will have a say on this guy but what the hell has gone wrong with angus?only 18 months ago he was flying and playing good footy....now hes not a shadow of the player he was back then......against the swans he had 6 clangers by the 2nd qtr.....i love the little bloke but why has he gone so far backwards?his disposal is shocking and hes getting caught way to many times these days......his awareness is horrible......u dont lose ability only confidence but hes looking so bad right now i hope he improves....

I was dirty as hell with him on Sunday. But the guy doesn't deserve to be pilloried. It's Richmond-like, some of the player bagging around these parts these days

You know what, for all the rubbishing he's copped and how disappointed I was with his disposal, I thought he played his most promising game as a midfielder for the club.
First time Ive seen Monfries command the ball as a midfielder, he was in and under everything and running to receive. First time he has made an impact as a midfielder, he didnt look out of place.
His disposal is not as bad as he showed in the first half yesterday, its alot better than that.
Hard to comprehend for some but I think Monfries would have taken a whole lot of confidence from the game.

He actually tried hard on Sunday. He forgot how to kick while giving 100%.

I'm glad now that he's not playing 'stat footy', I hope he doesn't get dropped now....
I hope Knighta does us the most least and teach him how to kick.
Cause right now, teaching our guys how to defend is just to much for the big MK.

very low on confidence but at least he worked hard to get the footy. i'd rather persist with him over the likes of lovett and jetta who have no idea what a contest is. i don't like lovett - his character and attitude should be culled from the club. hits his girlfriend, misses training sessions and doesn't put it in and help his teammates - very selfish footy player. trade lovett now why we can get something for him.

thats nice...i live and breathe essendon and whilst i hate losing i prefer it when guys have a go and can walk off knowing they gave their all. clearly this isn't the case...
what hurts me most is watching a bloke like rama who gives his heart and soul for the club fighting back from cancer and knee reco doing everything in his powers to play then watching him being let down by blokes like lovett.

I think he's been planned to be in more of a Luke Power role.
Trading him would be tragic for bomber fans.... he's our baby faced bomber!

This is not able tennis YG, so your experience is not constructive. His confidence is down but no one can teach the skills you are talking about at this juncture. He is dead in the water, or if lucky, tradebait.
And if Knights gameplan is going to yield anything, it is that players like monfries have had a good chance and must go unless there is an unbelievable renaissance in form.
Lovett is not your average footballer. Three square meals and a phone call is not really home to some. Andy has big up sides if we can filter/finesse them , but does need to lift a little but he is by far not the worst.

I say we trade Monfries at the end of the year while he is still worth something to other clubs. Can't see any point in waiting for him to improve cos i don't think it will happen (my opinion).
The longer we keep him, the less value he will be in trade terms, and he'll just be another wasted first round draft pick.

So Knights signs Dyson up for 2 years - Dyson is out of the seniors and doing very little as usual and then they want him to trade Monfries who is at least in the seniors and had a better game on the weekend and can improve further given his strong personal work ethic. That makes sense!
