Feel that he is suffering from 'Luke Ball syndrome' in that he is best known for being courageous but not much else at the moment.

Has got the skills to be a very good player for us but is just not getting involved enough in the play.

Is probably best suited to playing an inside midfielder role but with Jobe and JJ firing, its hard to see where he best suits our structure.

Would like to see him develop into a Kerr type player as he does have the ability to get to that sort of level.

I thought his 2nd half was ok on friday night.

Gave abit of run on occasions.

Was useless in the first half and just okay in the second half.

Needs to do more because quite frankly he has been very ordinary this season.

I don't think its a matter of getting comfortable, but seems to be targeted a bit by other teams because of his size - like solomon belting him for no reason. However he does seem to have an influence and most of his possessions have a positive influence on the match, if only he could get it more. I think he needs a spell at Bendigo to get a bit of touch back

Hasn't had the season he would've liked.

I think the main problem with Angus is that he's struggling to find 'his' position. Davey's come into the forward pocket role with great success and as it stands currently, doesn't have the motor to move into the midfield. Angus' other best position is as an on-baller but it seems we are well off in that department at the moment as well with each Hird, Watson, JJ, Peverill and Stanton spending considerable amounts of time in there.

This has meant Monfries has had to play further up the ground on a flank or a wing. I don't believe Angus is particulary well suited to that role and as a result, he hasn't being exerting a great influence on matches.

However, in the interests of running out the season well, I think we'll see a far greater role in the midfield for him in the second half of the year.

Maybe he's not the type we need in our team. Time will tell. He is a very good player, so we might get on the end of a big trade come the right time

He needs to find a yard of pace or a bigger windtank. At the moment he doesnt have enough strings to his bow. He's still only 20 so there is plenty of time.

Exactly, at some point in his career the umpires aren't going to pay the soft frees that he gets a lot of now. Seems to dive on the ball and expect a whistle to be blown and if it doesn't his second efforts don't exist. I still think he is good enough to be in our best 22 but he needs to grow out of playing junior football tactics. Could be another Jobe Watson type situation, doesn't need to be dropped but perhaps needs things to be highlighted to him.

The problem is he's not playing badly enough to get dropped, and IMO that's exactly what he needs. Maybe a spell in the 2nds will give him a bit more motivation when he makes his way back.

His 2nd half on Friday night was good but he needs to be doing it for a full game. It seemed like he was given a lot of freedom in the 2nd half on Friday night. Maybe the empty spot in the midfield in Stanton's absence was, and will be, exactly what he needs to take the next step.

For me it's either play well this week or get dropped, because this kid's talented and he needs a wake-up call.

Well this week he did. might get saved if Stants doesnt come up though.

His 2nd half was good. He deserves to keep his spot, but he is a little down on expectation so far this year.

Yes I'm not a huge fan of him. Had some pretty big expectations though. Is he a dirty player? Opposition teams seem to get stuck into him every week. Maybe they think that he is overwhelmed with a bit of attention.

As a forward the fact that he has kicked only 8 goals in 11 games is worrying. Generally he is having very little impact on games a couple of nice moments but that is it. If Jay Neagle wasnt struck down by injury monfries would probably spent more time in Bendigo.

he's getting a little bit lost in general play at the moment. quite often his positioning is not quite right, so the ball by-passes him a bit. but he does get to the bottom of the pack a fair bit, and always gives us a decent attack on the footy. probably safe until lovett returns from injury. but at some point it will all click for angus, and when it does, we'll be singing his praises.

He's not primarily a forward. I think he's a little bit of a Sheeds favourite, if he was going to get dropped he would have been by now, I think he'd have to do absolutely nothing to lose his spot, that didn't happen last week

Gussy is also a favourite for many of us too. Sheeds and the boys love Gus. You should too.

i am a massive fan for this guy, hasnt been in great form this year ,probably needs a gig in the 2's for a bit of confidence,i see him as a hird of the future ,but doesnt get enough time int he center
