I highlighted roles because I think that is more translatable across political ideologies. People can discuss who should be responsible for what role and maybe try to justify their thoughts. I was nowhere near complete either - just broad strokes to outline where I'm coming from.
Essentially I see privatisation of any of the roles I outlined result in a poorer product, either because they cut corners so you get a worse product for the same cost or they cost more for the same quality.
The current LNP government appear to be privatising services that should not be privatised and offering contracts to politically aligned contractors (donors etc). This leads to corruption or the appearance of corruption. There are contracts for things like the indue card that seem to offer a huge amount of money to the provider without any significant outlay or risk - its just profit for nothing - one should ask: why do they gift companies so much free money?
