Monthly pay for TSL
JAMES BRESNEHAN
The AFL has ordered that development grants for the 10 State League clubs be drip-fed rather than paid as a lump sum.
AFL Tasmania will not get a $500,000 boost to its bank account to allocate $50,000 each to the inaugural TSL clubs. Instead, the AFL bean counters will send out the development cash as monthly instalments spread equally between January and October.
The method of payment falls under the new arrangement AFL Tasmania has with the AFL, whereby monthly accounts are sent to Melbourne for reconciliation by "head office".
It effectively makes AFL Tasmania a state branch of a national company.
