 The teams are up and a surprise match-up is Big Cam(CHF) on Kreuzer(CHB), for me this was unexpected.

It is a bit random Thoughts?

Umm...

You do realise the teams they release on a Thursday night are essentially a random selection in terms of match ups?

For example, Brady Rawlings, our number one tagger, has been selected at FF for North.

Don't take anything seriously when it comes to the supposed 'selected line-ups', they go out the window when the match actually begins.

With no disrespect to Kreuzer, because he is a young bloke in his first year, but i could only pray that Mooney gets that match-up. Kreuzer, i believe has only played ruck and forward so far and would be out of his depth against the stronger and more experienced Moondog. That match-up does seem odd but the blues are down on talls in the back half so hopefully Mooney can get off to a good start like he did so many times last year, often being our first goal kicker, and get his confidence up

The match up is just random. Last week we had either Edwards or Gibbs named at FB.

IMO the matchups will be.

Mooney - Bower
Hawkins - Setanta

Thornton to play loose or on a third tall unless either of the two above are getting murdered.

I can promise you that the Kreuze won't play down back at all. He will ruck and possibly rest in the forward pocket with Cloke drifting across half back.

Bower on Mooney (don't laugh he can match him) and Irish (Crazy Cow Eyes) on Hawkins...will scare the living bejesus out of him!!!:D

I should have read what the guy above me wrote first :)

Well - this match up with Mooney won't eventuate.

Mooney is a late withdrawal and will be replaced in selected side by Tom Lonergan - back for his first senior game since the big injury.

what is he out with?

I was told "general soreness" ......... he's definately not been moving as well as he can.

Don't think this will hit the press until tomorrow. Geelong have played it pretty well IMO. Lonergan won't be under as much pressure as a late inclusion ......... imagine the media pressure if he was named last night.

If general soreness is costing him a week off taking into account the extra day off this early in the year then I'd be pretty surprised....

Especially given it's Friday night and he's already ruled out with 'general soreness' when you'd think that anything other than a genuine injury would result in a fitness test?

What's your source?

I can't believe the grief I've copped because of the post re Mooney being out of the side.

You don't need to post 10 times a day to have credibility on this site - I would have thought not ?

Anyway ....... without trotting out a popular line (but I will) ............. I can't name my source, except to say that I was talking to one of the players involved over a coffee today.

I look forward to your posts thanking me for the advance notice on the change to the team. I was also told that it was line ball between Ling and Mooney for a rest and that Mooney got the nod because of carlton's weak defence (and they want Ling to run with Stevens).

You wouldn't have tomorrow night's winning tattslotto numbers there by any chance, would you Nostradamus? Wouldn't mind a share of the $19 million.

Aahh - we have a comedian amongst us !

I'm not claiming to be some freakin super-hero because I went to the trouble of posting something that in 24 hours will be proven factual.

But as you asked .. the numbers you need are 29 45 26 30 21 39

Otherwise you can call 1800 (flog) and they give you a hand.... but sounds like you've had a bit of hand action today.

Enough of the banter .......... go cats !

Kreuzer will not play CHB - you can be certain of that.

I'm prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt Jumping Jack. Are you certain?

I can't be more certain based on the fact that I have two ears in good working order !

It's hardly ground breaking stuff ....... good player management by Geelong and Mooney is clearly not going at 100%.

If Cameron wakes up tomorrow though and changes the coaches mind I'm going to look like a goose (although I know a bloke with one kidney who's having an early night based on a phone call today from the coach)
