Was great to see Moons "On The Couch" last night! Some say he didnt look pleased to be there, but I think that is just Moons. He mentioned that he is pretty placid off the field, and I think thats just him. Probably isnt the biggest fan of the media either!
I nearly laughed when they introduced him, they looked absolutely $hit scared of him! For those who didnt see it, here is a rundown!
* Mentioned that he didnt take too much notice of what the media says, but his mum does get upset a bit when she reads all the constant report. He said she had wanted to "apply the pliers and blowtorch" to Wallsy on a few occasions.
* Said GAJ is getting the same treatment as Judd, which he doesnt think is fair.
* Was the advice from family and friends that made him pull his head in this year. Especially after the Kangaroos game when his girlfriend let him know how stupid he was!
* Hasnt had any Anger Management Sessions. Only spoken to the club psychologist a few times, but no actual Anger Management!!
* Took him longer to mature, and realise his potential than most players. Has only been in the last 18 months that he has realised it.
* Would like to be thrown into the ruck every now and then, but said people wouldnt want him to because he "cant get near the thing"
* Said he "doesnt want to go near" Tredrea, Hall, Q.Lynch come finals time, would much prefer to leave that to Scarlo and Harley and he take the 3rd Tall or float thru the middle, or even up forward.
* They showed footage of the 1999 GF and asked what his memories are, said he didnt get a kick and was dragged with 10mins to go and Pagan gave him the biggest spray of his life. Said he was embarrased to watch the footage of him receiving his medal (he claims cos he had "shocking hair" but he has said before he is embarrased about being a Premiership Player cos he didnt do anything)
* Said he thinks there is a Premiership in the current bunch of Geelong players, adding "I hope it's in the next couple of years because my contract runs out in a few years and who knows what will happen after that". I think I speak for most people when I say we want Moons to stay.
* Bomber has never had a go at him about his indiscretions. Thought he might after the Nth Ballarat game when he was sent off, but Bomber supported him all the way.
* Said he felt sorry for King with all the negative press he received. Said the media dont know the real story and that Kingy had done a fantastic effort even to play, also adding that King probably shouldnt have played at the start of the year because he wasnt ready.
* He wasnt disappointed to leave the Kangaroos, he had Bomber who asked for him to come to Geelong, and with Jason at the club thats where he wanted to go. He always wanted to play footy with Jason, but because of respective injuries they only ever got to play 2 games together. Jason is living on the Gold Coast and working as a CUB Rep, and is getting married in December with about 350 people attending, which Moons said will "be a wild night"....as long as there is no beach or fences
Thats pretty much all I can remember! Good to see Moons on the show and scaring the life out of Wallsy and Healy!!
