A big factor is Judd. He has copped a lot of flack on Bigfooty this week. It would be sensational if he hits his straps.

Have to agree. Mooney and Hawkins haven't done all that much this year, but it could be argued they are important to our structure. Strong midfield pressure from the blues this week could mean we end up bombing blindly into the forward 50...to travis varcoe and stokes. uh oh

Chapman out is a loss

Yep Chapman out is a massive loss. Cats will bounce back hard this week. Hoping the young Blues will improve on last years shocking performance V Cats at TD. Lot has changed since then i.e - have Stevens, have Judd, have Kruezer, don't have Ackland, don't have Pagan. Our defense is better equipped this year, and is highly under-rated IMO. Still think the Cats small/medium forwards will provide the biggest headache as usual. We can cover 2-3 talls pretty easily. As always, the midfield battle will decide this one. If we start with a weak attack on the footy like we did V Brisbane, we'll get blown away in the first 1/4, and it'll be game over. Not entirely happy with out selections. dropping Edwards and Pffeifer has weakened our forward line. Going to need goals from the midfielders.

If they had thought it was too tall then they would have made the decision to drop one of the rucks on Thursday night.

They've brought in Armfield to help counter act this factor i think and to play on the dangerous small forwards that Geelong has..

I think they're planning to use Kruezer or Hampson in Edwards role i.e. as a KP forward. Thought Edwards was unlucky. Didn't kick many last week, but he presented well, and pushed up the ground providing an option, and his disposal was very good. Getting more involved in the play. He's not too far away from regular selection, just needs to work on his consistency. Even though Kruezer and Hampson are "talls" that have sensational mobility.

I didn't think Mooney being out was going to make much difference for us. He had a big year last year, but in the scheme of things is just an average player. I knew Gary Ablett would be our major concern (as he always is) & that if they turned up to play we would struggle. The Franklin out was much bigger, but something went horribly wrong for us that night. We certainly had got well ahead of ourselves after our consecutive wins over the Bulldogs & Port.

I thought Mooney being out would help our undersized defence match up a bit better........and it did.

But again, as with that Hawks game, our mids were carved up when we turned the ball over.

So much for the emphasis on defending and tackling.
