OUT: Playfair & D Johnson (trade them both with Kingsley, for a decent ruck to keep Ottens FWD.)

IN: Mooney & Prismal

First Emergency - Tenace

Your comments on Playfair are an unpopular truth, because there is still a vocal contingent who think that the GFC centre Half Forward's position can be filled by a "link man", while other teams have forwards who actually kick goals. McCarthy wasn't flash either yesterday, but I would still play him next week at least. Kingsley - no. Just no.

Ok, maybe Playfair does deserve another week. I would expect that McCarthy would come out for Mooney without any other changes. I believe Kent has really struggled this year in part because of our poor disposal to forwards, Kingsley being a bloke who relies on good delivery. Not to make excuses for him, but I think he would be useful again if our kicking improves. In the meantime, he can learn how to kick.

I think Maca deserves his spot, he kicked the opening goal after a good lead and mark, ran hard up the ground to help bring the ball down to Otto, rucked for a while and got a few taps.

The idea of putting otto at full time ff is silly because he is one of the very best tap ruckmen in the comp. I see him as a ruckman who goes forward, not a forward who rucks. He and King are awesome when on song like the last few weeks, getting hitouts, getting possessions and scoring goals.

H will probably make way this week, for mooney i reckon.

Whoever said maca is done and dusted is rather harsh considering he has played three games, kicked 6 goals and contributed around the ground...Kicking can be taught, launching yourself after the contested ball 10 feet off the ground cannot.

Mackie always plays good against the kangas. they never man him up and he kicks goals.
hope it happens again!!

Playfair and McCarthy were both diabolical yesterday.

I'd be inclined to drop both of them and bring in Blake as the 2nd ruck.
Leave Ottens in the square all day.

Does anyone think KK is a chance?
I damn well hope not but Bomber has a habit of bringing back players who performed well against the opponent last time.

Hahahaha.. yeah he's a chance to win the lottery perhaps.. not so much play for Geelong next week. ;) :D

Anyway, Moondawg should be primed, having a week off and playing against his old side next week.

The game is on live if anyone cares, next Sunday, 1pm, Channel Nine. :thumbsu:

I think that is pretty easy. Both Playfair and McCarthy were ordinary today, however McCarthy can take a pack mark and will crash packs, for that sole reason, IMO, Henry the Goat (like the Jack?) should get the boot this week and at seasons end.

Pitty he cpould not take one on the weekend. Thats why he was in the ruck. Will have his papers stamped on Thursday night...NEVER TO RETURN TO THE AFL IN GEELONG COLOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dead shyte drops sitters on his own and cant kick even when clearing the ball. Who ever said he played wqell on Sunday must be snorting someting good!!!!

How was Blake's form been in the twos, anybody know? Frankly I am surprised he is not sharing duties with King and leaving Ottens up forward, because if I remember correctly he was actually playing fairly well and at least breaking pretty even before he made way to the reserves.

As someone else has already stated, straight forward swap, in Mooney and Riccardi, out, Playfair and McCarthy.
You put your best 22 on the park in my opinion, and neither Playfair or McCarthy are in Geelongs best 25.

I think it will be Playfair to make way for Mooney. McCarthy seems to have been used a lot closer to goal than Playfair, who tends to be used more as a target at CHF. I'd rather see Mooney play CHF with McCarthy at FF than Playfair CHF and Mooney deep in the forward line where he can't have as much of an impact coming up the ground.

Remember it was pretty much a straight swap last week, Playfair for Mooney. So I imagine they'll just swap them back. Playfair hasn't done a lot, and probably wouldn't have been in the team if Mooney hadn't suspended. McCarthy probably still has a few credits up his sleeve from his 5 goals against Carlton. IMO, the logical choice is to drop Playfair for Mooney.

Blake as second ruck but it will never happen. We just need Otto up forward sitting in the goal square taking contested marks.

H for Mooney. Hopefully Blake for Macca.

McCarthy and Playfair were both crap. Simply neither of them should be in the team this week. As has been mentioned I'd prefer Blake to come in alongside Mooney and leave Otto in the goalsquare or failing that I'd bring N.Ablett in. Nablett hasn't set the world on fire by any stretch but everytime he gets the ball he looks like he can do something productive with it unlike McCarthy or Playfair.

So looking like you can actually do something but failing to do it makes you a better option than other decent selections?

And from the Herald-Sun

"Cam Mooney will be back after suspension, but Thompson said he might discard another tall forward"

Sounds like both McCarthy and Playfair may go.

I read that as disgard another tall forward to make way for Mooney, so 1 will go.

Yeah, it's a bit confusing. To me it seemed to be assuming that one would go to make way for Mooney, and another would be discarded as well. Guess we'll find out tonight.

this isn;t going to go down to well, BUT blake in, mccarthy playfair out kinglsey in also. With ottens playing solid from the goal square, the other option is kingsley as a leading target. thats is our best and only set up going towards the finals.

You're kidding about Kingsley, right? And, if we do make it to the finals then we certainly cannot rely on Kent to kick any goals.

Go CATS!!
