He was great yesterday. No stupid things, hopefully he can keep it up against Richmond and into the finals.

Scarlo, Harley, Rooke and Mooney in the back half makes us look a lot better.

Bring on Richmond....!

Would that be the first time he's got more frees [1] than he's given away [0] ?

He was everywhere yesterday. He started in the centre. He played a fair bit in defence and he popped up in the forward line.

I thought all of Geelong's tall defenders played very well. With Rookey tagging Chris Judd, it was important for Egan to hold his own and he did very well indeed. Having Tom Harley back was good too. He's a fine player in his won right, and Scarlett seems to be 20% better when he's there.

West Coast's weakness is not having much in the way of marking forwards. When your midfield is dominating it doesn't matter, but with the pressure Geelong were putting on all day it was all West Coast could do to bomb it in long and high, and that suits guys like Scarlett, Egan and Milburn very well.

Moons has been pretty consistent in the second half of the season, as opposed to many of his mates out on the field. it's great to see him temper some of that flamboyant enthusiasm, and with a bit more help down back having him released to his utility role is going to be a big help for us.

I think the role Mooney played on the backline is just about his most natural position. For lack of a better name , Ill call it a Sweeper, basically playing as a loose man allowing total focus on ball reading and little concentration on a direct opponent. Why was he so good yesterday?.I feel it was because we had Harley back in the side as the #2,Egan is growing into a KP backman role so now Mooney can play of the Back flank. He is just so strong he breaks tackles and has the skill to go both ways.
It makes me think if we had all our players available what is our best backline, Egan to me in very short period is burrowing himself into it in a way that would be to remove and with guys like Wojo, Enright and Hunt we plenty of skill in the stands.

Gave one of the best 'dont argues' I have seen for a long time aswell, I reckon no one was more surprised than Mooney that he actually kept the ball in play!! A great game on Saturday and is getting back to some great form - after me and many others gave him a pasting early in the season for too many indescretions. If his second half of the season form continues into the finals he will be unstoppable!

Well done Moons ;)

FB - Egan Scarlett Rooke/Sando
HB - Moons Harley Hunt

I like having Egan out there, I'm a big wrap for him, should be a shot at rising star this week against Richmond and I'm keen to see who he gets the job on. If the opposition forward line only has two key talls, I reckon give them to Egan and Scarlo and let Harls run with one of the smalls, because he had a great tank before he was injured, I'm assuming he's got most of it.

When Woji comes back, Woji in, Tenace out. Let Woji run around the wing.

Didn't the Moon-man mention that he wanted to play this sort of role during the preseason? He probably got used to running around the middle last year and knows how to do it now. I think he relishes the lack of real responsibility which goes with being a midfielder, if he makes a mistake it's not going to directly cost the team goal. Perhaps he should be played here more often as he reads the play well, has exceptional mobility for a guy of his size and has excellent skills.

The Big Hairy Cat was fantastic last Saturday. I lost count of how many times he broke tackles running out of defence.

I'm very happy we didn't get rid of him when the rest of the footballing public thought we should have.

Yeah was a great read that one, showed again how much he has matured.
I wonder how many people you could find that are genuinely embarrased about their premiership medallions?

Keep it up Moondog!
