Seems to be a fair bit of discussion occurring, it seems Mora does want to play on as he would have announced his retirement by now.

With the club letting go of Ballard, I don't know if they will offer him another deal.

Honestly think he needs to become a forward, just can't see his body standing up in the midfield.

It wouldn't make much sense from a list management point of view to go into the draft batting into the 90's, better off with him on the primary list for 1 more year at least you'd have to think, rather than go in with a minimum 2 years for a mystery selection that late this year. Stagger our retirements & delistees as much possible - and from that perspective I think we've hit about the right quota already. Pavs decision pending...

Fremantle has delisted Anthony Morabito from the main list but the club has committed to re-drafting him as a rookie.

Would have thought that this would happen. maybe if he played in peel for the year he'd keep a senior spot, but after years on the list without achieving much, i think any reasonable person would still be happy to be part of an AFL team still. However the poor kids self esteem must be shot!

Let's face it - he's going to have to convince himself that he can play again and perhaps the rookie list position takes away at least some of the spotlight/pressure.

Yeah it's disappointing isn't it?
It kinds of kill off any hope of Mora coming out of preseason fit and ready to go.

But to be fair, he has been out for a long time and it's probably realistic that he need time to work himself back in.

It's hard to keep up with the rookie list rules changes, but I think if we go with less than 40 senior list players we can upgrade a rookie whenever we want.

Half way through the year he can be upgraded. (90% sure)

That is correct I think too. We have five spots left on our main list after upgrading Hughes. I would think we would go with 3 draftees, one delisted player and then one position available for a rookie upgrade.

I guess if another club makes noises that they are interested, but Morabito wants to stay, a public statement about rehabilitation not going well or a photo of him getting about in a moonboot could quell the interest.
