I dont appologize as I think it is LONG overdue that someone calls you out on bullying others posters, (your responses in this thread providing prime examples) while at the same time you post deadset 100% negative rubbish opinions that always seem to put down rookie posters. I think your opinion of D.Pearce is massively off base and that was the purpose of the debate. I think that the outside speed of Pearce rounds out a midfield nicely. If you analyse Freo games before he came to the club when Hiil was tagged we severely lacked penetration into the forward line. The fact that D.Pearce was leading the whole of the AFL in forward 50 entries as of last week on its own does not mean that D.Pearce is dominating, but the stat is a pretty good indicator that he is playing his role of carrying the footy and penetrating the forward fifty regularly. Im a fan of D.Pearce because I have seen him transform himself from a player not fit enough to keep up with ruckman in running drills, to a quality AFL player who dispalys a strong work ethic.

For the record. I dont think you could argue your way out of a wet paper bag. Rather than threatening me., why dont you prove me wrong, contribute a coherrent response and make an argument as to why D.Pearce shouldnt be in the team or make your point in a more concise manner.

I'd like to see the stats on metres gained too, which is a very highly regarded stat. I imagine Fyfe and Danyle Pearce will be right at the top for Freo in metres gained.

#1 for inside 50's (in the league) and had his best game this year against Hawthorn (31 disposals, 5m, 4t kicked 1.1) His next best was against Collingwood. I take it the Premier and the Pies are crap teams? He's also gone ok against the Swans and Roos. Look at his figures there's not much between his best and worst this year and his good has been very good. How exactly has he played good against the carp teams and crap against the good ones? Some specifics would be lovely.

Yeah, Pearce is #1 for inside 50s. Stephen Hill is #2. That is a reflection of our game plan. Pearce is also 514th in disposal efficiency at 63.6%. Do inside 50 stats only count if they are effective?

Hill's disposal efficiency is 69.5%. There's not a huge difference between them. Disposal efficiency going inside our forward 50 is always going to be slightly down because we often play one man down in the forward line; and are often outnumbered. Plus we don't have any amazing contested markers up forward.

Do I think Danyle Pearce could improve? Yes

Do I think he should be dropped? No

Why would I suggest anyone? The team is quite even now. But certain players would want to be one their toes. It's hard to see Taberner holding his spot for long. Suban would need to continue to give great effort. Same goes for Sylvia.

For me, Morabito has to come in. He has more to offer than a fair portion of the squad and needs to be primed for the run to the finals.

I thought I had been clearer than that. He has been having trouble picking up the ball cleanly, that is not the same as saying he can't pick it up at all. If he can't get that out of his game, then yes, I'd send him down.

I think Danyle just needs a few less nodoze before the match, or maybe a sniff of vodka to calm the nerves a couple of percent.

He is a fraction off and still one of our best contributors. When he clicks, and it only has to be one game this year, he will tear a game open for half a quarter until the opposition coach puts a hard tag onto him and then Hill and Fyfe will go bananas.

Nope. I'm surprised you think he is. Give him half a dozen games at AFL level where he shows he's best 22 and then I'll concede he is. At the moment he is playing very well for peel and looks like he might go OK at AFL level.

So he can't get a game because he hasn't played in 3 years, but you won't accept he's best 22 until he plays 6 games. That's some pretty wild logic there.

If Morabito isn't in our best 22 then we should rename it, because it's not the best we've got.

Tom Sheridan will do that for you. Not consistent at all at AFL level and is usually one of the poorer performers, but plays very well at WAFL level usually grabbing 25+ a few tackles marks and maybe a goal or two.
