Watching those highlights again it strikes me how well he would have fit our current game plan. His ability to mark, run, kick long and his acceleration away from stoppages would have been just perfect. Such a shame for him, and Freo.

Seems like a lifetime ago that we saw him playing. Is he still recovering from that knee injury towards the end of last year? if so that doesn't seem good, seeing as it was only supposed to be a 4-6 week injury.

Also lets not forget there is no guarantees that he would have become a beast solely based on 1 season. With out current depth its hard to see him with the club next season if he doesn't play soon.

Geez. I knew he was good but that video. Wow. He was amazing. Fyfe like but dare I say it ... Faster and better kick.

Youtube videos only tell one story and usually its a edited one of his best bits. For his first season he was great, but he also went missing a fair bit which many are forgetting. I would say at the time his was pretty already made for AFL compared to Fyfe who had much more to grow. Growth wise I don't think he would have got close to Fyfe, but we have been a solid player.

He is reportedly getting a specialist opinion this week on whether he can resume training or give up the fight.
Anyone know what day that is ?

I doubt it. If they thought he was a chance to come good they'd probably spend this year getting him right so that he's good for next season.
Effectively at the end of this year, it's five years out of the game (not counting the 3 games he played last year of course).

I have heard it is a simple case of him losing interest and it is hard to blame him. He is probably mentally exhausted.

At this stage just would be a waste of money. Would play half the season in the WAFL trying to reach AFL fitness standard and then come end of year would be back at the start. I think he knew very well this year he needed to get through without any problems, but it's evident that his knees are unfortunately are a count down clock till next problem.
