Just brick'em!
Mora is big bodied, has speed, huge motor, courage and is a tough Harvey boy.As we all know has a friggen booming boot.Bright boy with an aggressive footy brain.
Marking characterised by bloody great timing rather than bloody great leap.
So long since we've had the pleasure I can only imagine how much it means to him.
All the good will I can muster goes toward a successful return and career for the bloke.
From the noises coming out of the club I'm hopeful that it will happen.
He really does deserve some luck!

Mora might struggle with the action of swinging around after leading out of the forward line to have a ping at goal. This motion will cause the most pressire on his knee joints. It would be the same playing in a key defencive roll doubling back. Straight line rolls like out on the wings is his future. Would love to see him get 100 games out of his body as we have all nearly forgotten how good a player he was. Fingers crossed we get to see his pace, tackle breaking agression and long running bombs at goal again this year and for a few after that. GO FREO!

I think if he is fit and healthy just play him forward round one big risk but worth it.

The club have been monitoring his rehab all the way through obviously.
They will be in possession of more info on Mora's body than any other on the list I'm guessing.
The prospect of The Emperor fronting up forward, back or in the middle round 1 I would rate as zero.
I'd be happy to see it;but I can't see it.;)

Agree...to many players have gone past him at the present moment. To big a risk for round one. Six weeks in he might, off the back of good wafl form force his way in i hope

Nah sorry, when you are new and you get called a "sarcastic campaigner" within your first couple of posts (when you weren't even close to being sarcastic at all) are you supposed to just accept that? It's certainly not going to be the end of my world if I get attacked by a mob in an online forum. But if you're going to deal it out then you should expect to get it back. More than happy to reap what I sow. Sounds like others here don't share that philosophy.

I liked the play on words game that you started with and the imaginative suggestions but let me warn you as an old hand on here Tread carefully around here please .
Some posters can be hard to handle and they will say things that may upset you but don't fall into the trap of continuing the argument because it never ends well . Move on and try again.

Saw him hanging out with Hayden Crozier at an Oktoberfest event in Swan Valley. Looked to be in good spirits (we all were I guess, it was friggin Oktoberfest). Still looked to be in really good shape even with all the time off. Here's hoping he's setting up for another big crack at it.

Whilst we all would love him to make it as a replacement for Pav, I think the easiest / safest would be to play him as a third tall defender in the mould of Michael Johnson (similar to what Sheridan has been playing as well) would certainly have the speed and long kicking to break the lines, but also the height to help out....

Completely agree. I think it is far more likely he'd play down back over joining the forward line. He has some serious talent though, so hopefully he gets back fit enough to play through the mid again at some point and give us even more flexibility with more mids in our b22. Fyfe, Bennell and Hill can shift forward, and Mundy, Barlow and Mora can shift back when we need. Feel all six are most dominant when playing through the middle though.

Point is rendered redundant when he marks the ball on the lead and takes the set shot.;):thumbsu:
A deep leading forward role would probably require the least change of direction for his knees. And would conveniently fix our most pressing need structurally.
Realistically he'll probably start on the wing for Peel

If they are that concerned about his knees then they shouldn't be playing at all. He needs to be able to handle all rigors of AFL footy

It's also sound policy, despite all the hand-wringing and doomsdaying around here.
Best available is sound policy, if the people making the assessment of who is best available get it right. The failure rate of Freo's recruiting in the top 30 suggests their assessment of 'best available' is off the mark.

Yet their judgement and assessment of players after pick 30 is one of the best in the business. Go figure huh? Must be just luck.

I know where this is going Clay, and I'm not going to play.;)

Are his skills good enough enough to hit a target in traffic. It has been so long, I have forgotten.

I like him on the wing, and occasionally as an inside mid using his strength to get the hand ball out to Hill or Bennell or use his pace to break away from the pack.

How is it the best in the business? Have you compared to other clubs?

I did say 'one of".

Nah, and I'm not going to, but I'm sure you will.

Even if we're in the top 5, it doesn't ring true that our recruiting staff are incompetent when we can be so shit at top end draft picks and so masterful at bottom end and rookies.

It just doesn't add up as a valid criticism.

How are we masterful at bottom end and rookies?

2010 onwards is post Phil Smart, and we have one elite player (Neale) and two completely failed drafts (2010 and 2012). That's not masterful.

We are still very much living off the recruitment of another era.

Then, in 2011, we took Sheridan and Crozier, both borderline 22, but developing, and Spurr and Pearce as ROOKIES. One a def 22 and one borderline.

Taberner ROOKIE in 2013...borderline 22.

Our 2013 and 2014 draftees are far too young to pot Bond over just yet.

But hey, I'm not going to stop you.

Which Pearce was a rookie?

Taberner is shit. He only gets a game because there is nothing else.
