Following on from a thread lodged here yonks ago, I've found a couple more grouse nicknames.

In Victoria - Devenish are the Barbers.
In SA - Mundulla are the Moots.

Buggered if I know what a 'moot' is. I'm assuming their theme song follows the tune of 'Jessie's Girl'.

Our team will always make the grade.
The boys will always go in hard and their desire will never fade.
There's a special sort of honour to wear Mundulla boots,
We've been labelled many names but we will always be the Moots.

We've got the premiership in our sights,
We play the game with head and body, and you know it.
We win the hard ball and we also win all the fights,
We'll see another Moot flag unfurled.
Another Moot flag unfurled.
Feared in the open and in the packs.
Moots' flag unfurled.

Cor blimey that was bad ...

The most unusual would have to be Eltham College (VAFA)- The Turtles and Port Noalunga (Sth. A)-The ****ledivers.

But there are some really good ones out there like the Grasshoppers (Murchison and North Albury),the Pidgeons (Yarrawonga), the Redbacks (Panton Hill), the Parrots (Leongatha), the Purples (Nathalia), the Bullants (Preston), the Rosellas (Cheltenam) and the Cavemen (Buchan).

And in this era of comformity in jumpers, club songs and nicknames by local footy teams copying A.F.L clubs, it gladdens me that there are a few that stand out and have thier own idendity.
