Just wondering as it seems there are 2 schools of thought as to what makes a successful side nowadays. We have seen the Eagles win a flag with a great midfield and decent hardworking KPP types. We have seen Sydney be successful with great KPP types and a hard working midfield.
Now we have up and coming clubs like the Tigers, Blues and Dogs who have recruited quick running types and KPP types that while talented don't seem like they will tear games apart. Then we have the Pies Saints and Hawks who have loaded up on the KPP types and have servicable midfields.
Which plan is better suited to football in the future. The quick running type to get the ball forward fast or the KPP loaded forward line that will mark whatever comes down but slow ball movement means opposition sides can get men back and clog up space.
